Do You Love Him? Sorta Kinda.

"Trina, dear, how about a nice little spa vacation, for you and Jason?" Marvin said, hoping to distract her from their most recent fight. "I think it would be nice and relaxing for you," That did little to erase the frown from Trina's face, in fact, it might have gotten worse.

"And what are you going to do...hmm?" She asked suspiciously. Marvin got the idea that she suspected he was cheating on her. She wasn't far off. He held up his hands feigning innocence. "I'm just going to be catching up on work. It would probably be best for us to resolve our issues separately, and it's just for the weekend." He replied.

In reality, Marvin had a lot more planned than just 'catching up on work.' It's been a while since he had seen the person he would rather be spending time with. And getting his wife and child away for two or three days seemed like the perfect opportunity. He stood there impatiently, awaiting Trina's response. It appeared that she was really taking her sweet time with this.

"Well? Are you going to respond?" He demanded. "I'm willing to pay for a relaxing weekend getaway, and you won't even agree to it." Trina then looked a little scared because of Marvin's aggressive outburst. 'Good,' Marvin thought to himself. He was a little sadistic, because he enjoys being feared.

Another couple of silent seconds passed by before Trina actually answered him. "Yes, you're right. I could use a little time off, and Jason's been very uptight lately as well. I'll go pack my things." She hurried off. Marvin could hear her tell Jason to get ready as well. He then set up their stay, and everything was in order.

After checking and rechecking that everything was set, he retreated to his office to make a very important phone call. He dialed the number, and waited while the phone rang and rang. Just as he thought that it would go to voicemail, the person on the other end answered.

"Well, well, well Marvin. It's been a while." Said the scratchy, sexy voice of Whizzer Brown. Just hearing his lover's voice caused all the blood to run south. How had he let so much time pass?

"I know, but would it be possible to see you? Trina is going out of town, and I miss you." Marvin said hesitantly. Marvin had a plan for the next couple of days, one that didn't actually involve sex. For him it was never just about sex, he was in love with the other man.

Marvin could hear Whizzer shifting around. "Hmm maybe, if I don't have anything better to do." The nonchalance in Whizzer's tone unnerved Marvin. Does he not feel the same way? But the older male wasn't going to say anything about, in fear of making his lover not want to come over after all.

He decided that the best thing to do was play it off cool as well. Even though he was so clearly dying inside. In fact, it made the man feel like a lovesick teenager again. "I assume you still know the way?" After hearing a sound of approval, he continued. " Be here by 7 earliest. Trina should be gone by then." He then hung up the phone.

Finally, Trina and Jason were both in the car and on their way. Marvin smiled, anticipating what was to come. He had told Whizzer to be here at 7, so he could have a little bit of time to set up. It was currently 6, so he had about an hour.

Marvin had thought that maybe they could just watch a movie together, and since they both have a fondness for the movie Singin' in the Rain, that seemed like a perfect idea. Marvin, having no idea how to cook considering the fact that trina always does it, threw a frozen pizza in the oven , hoping for the best. Even that might turn out questionably.

Given how nervous he was, the hour passed by very slowly, but eventually 7:00 came. Then 7:10, then 7:30, then 8:00. Marvin was starting to lose hope. The pizza has long since grown cold, and so has the disheartened man's hope. By 8:30, he had given up all hope of Whizzer showing up, but then there was a knock.

Marvin rushed to go open the door, and in stepped the man he had been waiting for this whole time. Immediately after closing the door, Whizzer pinned the shorter man to the wall and started kissing him fiercely. Marvin couldn't think about anything other than how great this felt.

Then Whizzer started going lower, and Marvin uncharacteristically stopped him. The taller man looked up confused. "Did you not invite me here to have sex?" Whizzer demanded. When Marvin shook his head, Whizzer grew even more confused, and slightly pissed. "Then what the fuck am I doing here?"

At the younger's reaction, Marvin decided that he probably didn't feel the same way. He contemplated calling the whole thing off, but the decided to at least try. "Well...uh...I have something that I want to tell you..."

"Fuck do you have HIV? Did you give it to me? Did I give it to you?" Whizzer questioned urgently. He didn't like Marvin's grave tone of voice.

Marvin couldn't help but laugh at that a little bit, though those subjects are definitely no laughing matter. He was mostly laughing at how adorable Whizzer is. "No nothing of the sort. It's rather good news." He took a deep breath before continuing. "I think I'm in love with you Whiz, and I want to divorce my wife."

While Marvin had been hopeful, Whizzer's face remained neutral. "And what if I don't want to be with you? What if I was only using you for sex?" He said harshly.

The hopeful man had not expected that response. There have been many times that they had spent, just enjoying each other's company. He had never thought that he actually meant so little to the other man. He had always known that Whizzer was very...promiscuous, and had many sexual partners, but he had also thought that they shared something special. Marvin deflated.

"Oh. I'm sorry for wasting your time," he muttered, running a hand through his hair. The lovesick teenager feeling came back, but now in a bad way. He felt like he was on the verge of tears.

Whizzer's face softened and he cupped the side of Marvin's face, making the shorter man look at him. "No, I'm sorry. I've had a really shitty day, and I'm shouldn't have taken it out on you." (Marvin could definitely stand to learn that lesson as well. He always took his anger out on Trina.)

"I don't know if I'm ready for an actual relationship, but I do know that you and I have something, so maybe we can take it slowly and find out where we end up." Marvin nodded to that, and pulled Whizzer down so he could kiss him.

This kiss was very much unlike the previous one. This one was sweet, and passionate, and full of love. It brought a smile to both of their faces. Marvin led Whizzer over to the couch. "Would you like to watch Singin' in the Rain?" he asked.

Whizzer grinned, "I'd love to."
