A Renegades reveal

Alternate ending part 2

Nova POV

Nova wanted so badly for Adrian to know, but, he wouldn't accept her. He was too good. And yet he was a Renegade. He loved isomnia not Nova, he didn't know Nova. 

"Where is Nova?" Adrian asked

"She is fine"

"Where is she!"

"It doesn't matter, she is not hurt, she is not dead, she is fine and will stay fine." A smile curled around Nightmare's lips, not that Adrian could see it "she will stay fine as long as you don't hurt me." Adrians face darkened, 

"you wouldn't"

"Yes I would, and I promise that if you lay a finger on me she will be the one to pay." Adrian shrank back, "Now" Nightmare continued, "you are going to stay here, with me and Nova until you dad, Captain Chromium comes here and offers his life for yours, and let me be clear Sentinel   I know your tricks."

"H-how?"

"I have my ways"  

Adrian charged her transforming into his sentence suit as he ran, he didn't need to hide now that she knew, he grabbed her wrists again and said.

"Pull off your hood or I burn it off."

"I already told you, you don't want to know."

"JUST TAKE IT OFF"

"fine"

Nova pulled down the hood and looked into Adrian's eyes, thatw ere open wide with shock.

"It was you? It was you all along." He said "did I ever even know you?" 

"Now you know how I felt when you told me you were the sentinel, its not fun learning the person you love is your Archenemy." Nova's tone carried a world of bitterness.

"You actually love me?"

"Yes of course, but some things are more important"

"Like killing my dad?"

"Yes" Nightmare answered simply. "I have already sent out the ransom note, the Captain should be here soon. Then you'll be on your merry way." 

"But Nova you can come with me, you can..."

"No, I can't my place is with the Anarchists, they are my family. I could ask you to join me but you would answer the same way, you belong with your family. Even if that means we have to be enemies."

They heard a thud. In a second Nightmare had her hood on again, she pulled put her knife and poisoned dart gun. She pressed her knife against Adrian's throat. And aimed the dart gun at the entrace. A moment later Captain Chromium entered.

"So we meet again" he said

"We've never met," said Nightmare "also, cliche much?"

"Let him go!"

"I'm not stupid."

"Fine then, how do I know you won't kill him as soon as I'm dead?"

"She won't." Adrian said

"That was a very stupid thing to do Sketch." Said Nightmare. "Just stay still and so will the knife. But Captain he is telling the truth, I don't want your son to die, I have every intention to let him go as soon as you are dead."

"Why do you want me dead?"

"Because I am Nova Artino" realization dawned on the Captain's face and Nova pulled the trigger, the dart flew true and landed smack in the center of Hugh Everhart's eye. A moment later he was dead. Finnaly. Then Adrian collapsed.

"Are you okay?" Nova asked

"You are a monster, I can't believe I ever liked you" he screamed. "Get away from me!" He ran out of the room and as far from the cathedral as he could, far from the betrayal, the pain. How could Nova who had hurt more than most people inflict the same pain on others how could she bear it.

She was a villain, thats how, she was his Archenemy. And he would not rest until she joined her uncle, powerless and behind bars.
