A Renegades reveal

Coming clean part 2

Adrian POV

Adrian stood outside of his own house, he was wearing his sentinel suit. It was time to come clean. And yet Adrian couldn't seem to know on the door. Surely if he could forgive Nova then his parents could forgive him. Adrian brought up his fist to the door. He knocked. They was a rustling inside and Adrian heard his dad shout upstairs. Someone rushed down and then the door opened. Both of his dads were standing in the doorway. At first they just gaped, but the  theur stances shifted to gaurded. 

"What do you want?" Hugh asked warily.

"I want to talk to you." Said Adrian, reached for the zipper and zipped up. The suit folded back into nothingness. Adrians parents stared at their son dumbfounded.

"It was you?" asked Hugh "why, when how?"

"HOW COULD YOU! We're Going to have to arrest you for breaking the code!" Yelled simon

Adrian definitely hadn't expected this reaction, with nova everything had been accepting and calm, and she was a real villain. 

"I thought you would understand, I just wanted to help more people."

"Were you helping people when danna got burned?" Simon asked "were you helping Hawthorn?" 

"I never hurt Hawthorn!" Adrian said "and you guys did the same thing during the age of anarchy." 

"That's different there were no rules back then we were fighting for a future." Said Hugh

"So am I, and I haven't transformed since Nightmare's attack on Renegade Tower. Plus I' Done all sorts of helpful things!"

"Like what? Abandon your team?" Said Simon

"Like capture Ace Anarchy! And countless other villains!"

"Adrian we have no choice, we have to take you in, we can try to make sure you don't get neutralized but we can't gauruntee anything." Said Hugh

"No, why don't you just break the rules."

"We just can't Adrian come on." Said Hugh, Adrian looked over at Simon, he looked like he wanted to speak up, but looked down instead 

"You dad is right."

"I'm not coming with you, you've just lost yourself a son" Adrian looked over at Simon "and the only one you can love." Said Adrian, thinking of Max who was currently sitting alone in his quarantine. Then Adrian ran, Invincibility and Invisibility wouldn't help catch him, he was glad Tamaya wasn't here, had she been he would be dead. He ran and ran and ran, not fully aware where he was headed until he was standing in a ramshackle neighborhood. Nova's neighborhood. He looked around for her house and his eyes landed on a blue door with crooked brass numbers.  Adrian ran up to the door and knocked he stood for a minute and there was the rushing around before the door creaked open only a sliver. Nova's blue eyes peeping out, when she was him the door swung open with a lound groan. 

"Adrian what are you doing here?" She asked

"I told my parents, and now I need somewhere to hide." 

"They want to arrest you?" 

Adrian looked down "yeah, I didn't believe it at first, but they are too wrapped up in their own importance to care about me." 

"Come in, your not the first convict I'm housing." Nova led him into the living room which was empty and falling apart, there were black and white flowers wilted on the table, a bronze helmet was hung on a hook and a stockpile of weapons on the dining room table. It was different from when Adrian had last been here, the villainy of the place wasn't hidden. 

"Do you live here by yourself."

"No I live with Honey and Leroy, and sometimes Phobia."

"Who are you telling about us?" Shouted a voice from the upstairs.

"A convict who has just been betrayed by the council."

"Yay one of us!" Said Honey, coming down the stairs, then she froze "what he doing here? He's a renegade!"

"Not anymore."

"My parents just kicked me out." Adrian said bitterly.

"Speaking of which," said Nova eyes wide "get rid of you band, run two blocks and hide it somewhere, I don't need Renegades coming and poking around this house."

When Adrian got back Nova was sitting with Cyanide and Queen Bee on the couch. It was a disconcerting sight.

"What were you thinking, revealing us to him." Said Cyanide

"He already knew about Nightmare, he can keep a secret." Said Nova

"And what about him being the Sentinel, he took Ace! For crying out loud." 

"And he's going to help me get him back or he won't be alowed to stay here anymore. Thats the rent Adrian! You can come in you're not interrupting."

Adrian went red, he opened the door more fully and walked in. 

"So Adrian, we need to discuss rent." She led him into another room where they were away from they prying eyes of Honey who was shamelessly staring at the couple, if she had been a cartoon she would have had hearts for eyes.

"I have to pay?"

"Not exactly but, you're going to help me with a couple very important things. First vitality charm tattoos for all the Anarchists, next help me free Ace, third draw food for us. Honey and Leroy can't leave the house now and neither can you so, wait can you draw food?"

"Yeah I can but I don't have my tattoo stuff, it's still at home."

"I'll get it this evening." Nova said with a sigh. "Now remember, no leaving the house no contacting friends, no nothing."

"Fine"

"It's for your own safety, you don't want to be arrested do you?"

"Of course not"

"I love you Adrian, and I am sorry."

"It's fine." Adrian bend down and placed a kiss on Nova's forhead. She looked up at him and took his face in her hands, and kissed him or maybe he kissed her, or maybe it didn't matter as long as they were together.
