Chapter 1

Flop

There it is.. the sound of droplets of water outside the window. The sound is peaceful and serene.

Knock knock

I hear something drop on the floor from the outside.

Creek

I slowly open.

Chapter 1: The letter

A short girl about five-foot tall with short, curly brown hair, sits by a window. Her soft brown eyes looks through the window with the drizzling rain outside than then begins to slowly stop. She then hears a small knock on the door. The girl goes by the door and slowly opens. A letter drops on the floor as a small, brown owl lowers its head on the floor.

"Ah look! It is my letter from Hogwarts!" I exclaimed.

Immediately opening, the letter has fine texture with an elegant handwriting to it.

"Dear Nadja Marleigh
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find all enclosed list of all necessary books and equipment.

Term begins at September 1st. We await your confirmation no later than July 31.

Deputy Headmistress"

"This is it! I'm going to Hogwarts! my dad will be pleased to hear this!"
Nadja runs up the stairs to see her father, sitting on his chair.
"Dad, look! I am finally going to Hogwarts! I am going to Hogwarts!" Nadja squeals.
"That is good to hear, dear, I wonder what house will you be sorted to?" He replies, "I was sorted into Slytherin."
"How did it feel like?.."
"It was nice, your house is like your family.. whether you would be sorted in to Gryffindor or Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw or to my house, it does not matter, dear.. your house shares good traits that is within you.. it's fine."
"I will keep that in mind.." Nadja smiles.
Nadja starts to walk away but then turns to her dad once again.
"Is being a half blood alright in there? Would it be alright?"
"Yes dear." He smiles with reassurance.

Her father and her lived in the Muggle world than in the Wizarding World because her father preferred in there for a change. Her mother was a muggle. Although, her mother has left her while she was still a baby, not knowing anything about the world of magic. Nadja's father sometimes tell her stories about the magic, Hogwarts and the tales of the Wizarding Battle. He tells her that she will get a letter from Hogwarts, which she did; then see the beauty of the Wizarding World.
It was a while before September 1st. Nadja practiced her magic in her free time. She has to hide the fact that she has magical abilities running through her, especially in a Muggle school. She had to endure some of the hard times where some classmates pick on her.

"I just can't wait for the time I go to Hogwarts."

Not for so long, she looks down her letter and checks on the list of requirements for her school.

"It is time to shop!"
