Chapter 16

Chapter 16- Standing for Hogwarts

Fifth year is here. Students could still not believe Harry's statement about He who shall not be named is now back. Some are terrified and some are angry while some does not believe the statement at all. Everyone goes by with acting normal. Some kids prank their friends, some laughs with their friends or even do curricular activities such as Gobstones club and Quidditch practices. A new teacher then is announced: Dolores Umbridge. Student body does not mind at first but then things take a turn. She is the meanest teacher Hogwarts have given. She sits during dinner with everyone. Mcgonagall and Professor Snape gives a discomforting look, sitting next to her.
"Wow I feel bad.." Seven snorts.
"For?" Ian asks.
"Professor Mcgonagall and Professor Snape.. they had to sit right next to her and they both look like they do not wish to sit next to her and be somewhere else," Seven explains further.
"True.." Ian sighs.
Seven, who is right across from Ian at that time, continues to eat after she deduced. She puts the chicken she only took a bite aside. Ian grabs it and takes a bite from it. Seven flares from embarrassment.
"What are you doing?!" Seven shakes her spoon.
"What?" Ian answers with food in his mouth.
"You ate it!" Seven points with her spoon.
"What? You just put it aside and not eating it! So? I'm only taking it.." Ian tilts his head in confusion.
"Nevermind.." Seven glance at her plate.
The next day start. Professor Umbridge now starts to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts since Professor Lupin and Professor Moody is not teaching the subject anymore. On her first day teaching, everyone grows to dislike her besides Professor Filch because he is on her side. She does not allow students to show their wands in class when it was supposed to be essential. She shows a smug every time someone ask her about Voldemort or what her conclusion to it. She says the same thing over and over again about how Voldemort is not back. She then forces her students to read for OWLS test. Keshie keeps a frown on her face sometimes when Umbridge is teaching.
"Dolores more like she need to walk out the door for less problem.." Keshie whispers at Nadja in class.
Nadja makes a small chuckle but Umbridge catches her. Professor Umbridge goes up to her.
"What should you be doing right now?" Umbridge holds her chin up in haughtiness.
"Studying, Professor," Nadja lowers her head.
"Good good," Umbridge nods.
As soon as Umbridge walks away, something heats on Nadja's left hand. Nadja makes a small groan from it. When she looks down, she sees a small "O.W.L.S." written on her left hand with burned marks. Nadja looks shocked then looks at Umbridge with a frown. Umbridge however, holds her head high still with the same arrogance as earlier, smirking. More and more student feels more trapped each day in their own Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
"I can't believe she did that," Seven sighs sadly, "I'm sorry."
"It's alright, it can't be help, can it?" Nadja smiles.
"As long as she is here, it's difficult," Keshie deduces.
"Yes indeed," Light agrees.
"The consensus here is that they all want Umbridge to go away and leave Hogwarts.. no one wants her to be our teacher.. she is horrible," Seven adds.
"Even Professors could not stand her.
One day, everyone starts to gather in the courtyard. The girls and Ian notice it too so they join the crowd. It turns out that Umbridge have been trying to take out other professors role in Hogwarts and she plans to take the Divinations teacher as well. Professor Sybill Trelawney, Professor of Divinations Class weeps from Umbridge's sudden provoke. Each students start to feel the sadness in her eyes because Professor Sybill does not wish to leave at all. Mcgonagall understands her feelings. She then sides with Sybill, comforting her while standing up against Umbridge.
"Umbridge is the worst!" Seven bites her lower lip from anger.
"I know!" Ian frowns.
"I hope Umbridge will leave instead! Ack!" Keshie glares at Umbridge from distance.
Later on, students are starting to hear about a secret plan to train with Harry and his friends. The training is for preparing once Voldemort comes back, each student is prepared. The group starts to join. They train in a secret room where no Dolores Umbridge, Draco Malfoy, Filch and the others who are generally objecting: Room of Requirement. All students who volunteers plan for not being caught. The practice session consist of dueling each other and learning to master the spells. However, the opposing sides are not backing down easily either. They are planning their tactics as well on how to catch the students off guard. That time does come unfortunately. Some students have been caught entering the secret room and Cho Chang have been caught as well.
Soon enough, the OWLS test have arrived. All students stare at their papers with either boredom or anxiously with their quills on their hands. Umbridge watches her students take the test. Seven, Nadja, Light and Keshie sits on their chairs, silently taking their test. They are all sitting in a line by the back row. Seven makes a soft sigh. Ian who is sitting in front of the class, aggressively writes with his quill. He does not like the minute of it. Umbridge however, feels confident with her teacher and her looking around the classroom.
