Chapter 12

Chapter 12- Dementors

Quidditch match just finished. All students start talking about the results of the game. They all could not shake the feeling of something surreal. A chill starts to form at the edges of the school.
"Hey, do you remember the conversation we had sometime ago?" Seven asks.
"Yeah, about the strange mystery surrounding Hogwarts?" Keshie answers.
"Yes, the one with the strange floating creatures?" Lights continues.
"They're called Dementors.." Nadja corrects.
The other three looks up at Nadja.
"How did you know?" Seven asks.
"I heard Professor Mcgonagall and Professor Dumbledore mentioning it.. they said to make some new regulations over the school due to it.. they even say that those are hovering in Hogwarts.. we need to be more careful.. they are out there somewhere.." Nadja explains thoroughly.
"Is there any way that we can get rid of them?" Seven reacts.
"That I do not know.." Nadja sighs.
Fortunately, the following day, Remus Lupin congregates the class to have a new lesson.
"I need to teach all of you a new method.. if you have not heard yet, there's these creatures at the foot of our school called Dementors.." Remus describes.
"These creatures have always been know for a long time.. they are always found in Azkaban but they have now reached our school. No, they never have been gone.. no one knows how," Remus stares at his pupils.
"But, there is a way for them to be warded off.. the trigger of this method is happy memories.. always remember that! Now, you have think of the happiest memory you ever had.. think of it heartedly.. refresh those nice memories within you," Remus continues.
"This happy memory and feeling needs to be felt within you as you project your patronus to go out..." Remus says seriously, "your patronus can be in any form of animals and your patronus will come out as a light that will push the dementors away, casting it away from you.. the goal is to make your patronus fully come out and the light will release bigger!"
Everyone listen attentively at Lupin's lecture. Not a single one miss any of what is being discussed.
"The way to call your patronus is by saying, Expecto Patronum!" Remus demonstrates.
"Now, in some cases, some wizards or witches uses their patronus to send out messages to fellow wizards, once you master it, you'll be able to use your patronus to send out important messages to your fellow witches and wizards.. but take note, dark wizards or anyone who uses their magic for dark reasons can not conjure a patronus.. patronus has to be for pure and light magical intentions.. getting to master or have this spell work is fairly difficult," Lupin explains more.
Professor Lupin claps his hands and have all his student recite the spell. He circles around to check on his students. The practice goes on for days. Some students immediately able to get their patronus to come out. Some have difficult yet. The four girls practice on their own time as well in class. At a class time, they fully get to make their patronus come out. Seven's patronus is a stag while Nadja's is a Pine Marten. Keshie's patronus is a while Light's is a white stallion.
One night, they hear a howl somewhere far in the distance. The girl does not seem to bother at all. Although, something in them seem to be a bit curious to why is a wolf howling near their school. One day, the four girls go to meet in the courtyard.
"Hey, have you heard about the howling of a wolf that one night in full moon?" Light starts the topic.
"Yes, although, I love the moon, it's quite mesmerizing," Nadja smiles happily.
"Rubbish!" Keshie replies.
"What? I think the moon is beautiful!" Nadja pouts in response.
"I just hope this won't turn into an altercation later on, girls," Seven glares at three as she sets down her book.
"You don't have a day where you are not reading, aren't you?" Keshie sassily asks.
"I'm not sure whether I should take that as an offense or not.." Seven crosses her arms.
Right across from the courtyard, Nadja notices Ginny Weasley walking down the corridor hallway. She immediately run up to Ginny and talk. The other three looks at her. Shortly after, Nadja comes back.
"Oh, you're friends with the Weasleys?" Seven asks.
"Well, they're in the same house I am, I happen to notice them a lot., Fred and George are funny guys, they're great! Ginny is such a nice girl! She's really smart too! The other day, I just asked her advice on Charms Class.." Nadja explains.
"I remember when I talked to Hermione Granger in one of our first years here in Hogwarts," Seven opens up.
"I don't see why you won't be, after all, both of you love reading.." Keshie laughs teasingly.
"She's the brightest witch of her age and she's very intelligent, I admire that," Seven admits.
All of the girls continue talking about their everyday. They laugh and tease each other at times. However, outside Hogwarts, things are beginning to unfold very slowly overtime.
