"After getting booted from the Garrison, I was kind of lost and fond myself drawn out to this place." Keith gestures out the window at the desert, and around the small cabin. "It's like some energy was telling me to search."
"For what?" inquired Shiro, eyebrows raised in confusion.
"Well, I didn't really know at the time until I stumbled across this area." Keith motions towards some of the images pinned to his cork-board, showing mountains, caves, and various rocks. "It's an outcropping of giant boulders with caves covered in these ancient markings. Each tells a slightly different story about a blue lion, but they all share clues leading up to some event," The mullet-sporting teen pauses. "Some arrival happening last night. Then, you showed up." Shiro nods, then turns to the others in the room.
"I should thank you all for getting me out." He puts his hand out. "Lance, right?" Lance clasps his hand and shakes it. Next, the older man turns to Pidge, who also shakes his hand.
"Pidge. The nervous guy's Hunk." At this, the large samoan looks indignant.
"Hey!"
"So, did anyone else from your crew make it out?" the ginger female continues, either unaware of or ignoring Hunks outcry.
"I'm not sure." Looking disturbed by his lack of memory or answers, Shiro loses himself in his thoughts. Nura places a hand on his shoulder gingerly, as if afraid of breaking something, startling Shiro back into the present. "Thanks, hun. Anyways, I remember the mission and being captured. After that, it's just bits and pieces." The room falls silent, but the thing that disturbs this should've been obvious.
"Hun? Dude, she's sixteen, and you're what, twenty-five?" Lance finally bursts out. The entire room deadpans at his stupidity, this claim so preposterous no one can respond.
"She's my daughter." Shiro says, his face expressing disbelief. Pidge, Hunk, and Lance's eyes widen and their heads swivel around to see Nura hiding her face behind her hair, looking downwards.
"What!" the three cry out in unison, and now, Shiro is the confused one.
"You didn't know?" A long moment of silence rang out.
"Anyways, yeah, sorry to interrupt, but back to the aliens. Where are they now? Are they coming? Are they coming for us? Where are they at this very moment? Why are the-mmphnmghn?" Hunk, whose mouth Nura chose to cover, stopped rambling like he always does when he's worried or nervous, allowing their commanding officer to actually answer.
"I can't really put it together." The raven colored locks on Shiro's head, as well as the more recent addition of the white fluff at the front of his head trembled as he shook his head. "I remember the word 'Voltron'. It's some kind of weapon they're looking for, but I don't know why. Whatever it is, I think we need to find it before they do." the commander finishes.
"Well, last night, while we were in the kitchen waiting for Nura, I was rummaging around through Pidge's stuff, and I found this picture." Hunk shows the others a picture of Pidge with long hair standing next to a taller boy who looks very similar to her, maybe a brother. "Look it's his girlfriend." Hunk chuckled, the sassy tech genius snatching back her picture.
"Hey, give me that! What were you doing in my stuff?" exclaimed the ginger.
"I was looking for a candy bar." A certain blonde giggles and pulls a large Hershey's bar out of her own bag. She hands it to the large samoan, who grabs it from her hands greedily, stuffing it into his mouth, mumbling thanks while he eats. Shiro's eyes widen, but he shakes it off, making a mental note to ask his adoptive daughter about it later. "But, then, I started reading his diary," Hunk continued.
