In many ways our young lady can be compared to water. Some comparisons are poetic, some comparisons may not be flattering, but can be made nevertheless. In this instance, as you may have guessed by the title, our young lady is being compared to the transparency of water.
Our young lady often likes to believe that she tries to be transparent when interacting with other people. In some ways she is right in believing so. When it comes to her passions and beliefs she is definitely transparent, but like many of us she is a little more guarded with things when it comes to strangers. There is nothing wrong with this, in fact it's normal. She doesn't know this stranger so she remains politefully guarded until she gets to know them and they earn some trust.
Such things can happen with delicate matters as well. When there is more at stake than just our young lady's integrity, being a little sugar coated can do much better. When it comes to delicate situations being transparently honest can be as bad as rope around the neck. One must sometimes start sugary before gradually breaking the bitter truth.
Yet, these are not the only ways that our young lady can be compared to being transparent. Like water, our young lady is a constant, ready to be there for those she cares for even if all she can do is listen and pray. But when life grows stormy and she begins to drown, she is transparent. Though this form of transparency is in the sense of invisibility. She often feels that due to her consistency that she is taken for granted and just disappears into the background, eventually to fade away altogether. A simple thank you brings blue to an ocean of grays. She has received many thanks along her way of trying to provide support, and it keeps her going. Yet on more than one occasion she has been looked past, and left to be more transparent than a ghost.
This feeling of invisibility has a large negative effect on our young lady. She often feels like what she so selflessly does to offer support for others may be all for not. But a meaningful thank you makes all the difference. Such an action makes her heart overflow with glee as she knows that she had helped, even if in the smallest way.
Through this our young lady has learned that even if a wound cannot be clearly seen that it is no less of a battle scar.
