Our young lady, God bless her, has been doing what she has always done,  and that is to simply soldier on. Traumatized, battle-beaten, and broken our young lady puts on a brave face and keeps on keeping on. She continues to go about her business like nothing has happened. She goes to her classes and job, but without her usual personality, however laid back it may be. She has merely existed, like a ghost, she floats through her regular routine, feeling hollow and lost.
If not for what is left of our young lady's family, her faith, and her best, closest, and dearest friend she would have never been able to recover from such a battle wound as well as she has been. She holds now, even more tightly, to what few dear people she has left, even closer to her heart.
Though as she went another day of absently attending her routine it was pleasantly interrupted by a spring thunderstorm. She broke from her corrosive thoughts, listened as the rain pattered on her metal roof, and the rumbling of the thunder. For what seemed like a few moments, our young lady enjoyed some peace.
Once the storm had subsided our young lady looked out at her lilac bush and saw that it had started to bloom for the season. Our young lady loves the fresh smell after the rain and the smell of lilac flowers. So she went out to enjoy the two fresh scents of the rain and flowers together.
It was by this lilac bush that our young lady has found an unlikely friend. There sprouting from the ground by her feet was a small cluster of lilac blooms. Our young lady was struck with inspiration as she looked at this bright cluster of flowers. It was a standing tall, defiant and colorful. So no matter how low you have fallen, if you seek out  the light, you can bloom no matter the circumstances. With this our young lady has found a hopeful friend in an unlikely place.
