~For those of you who didn't pick up on it, Louise compelled Luke to kiss her last chapter; he wasn't willing to~
//Kayla's POV://
Has there ever been a time in your life where your feet just carried you someplace, and you wonder how you ever ended up there? It's like, somewhere deep in your brain, it realizes something that you haven't yet.
As my eyes ran over the facade of the house that I was now stood in front of, I was still trying to figure out just what my brain wanted me to do here.
A slight moan escaped my lips as memories upon memories hit me like a freight-train. This house, their house, held most of my child hood in the palm of its hand.
I turned so that my body was in line with the house; with it being on my right, and the park being on my left. The swing that was lightly waving back and forth in the almost non-existing breeze brought back the events of this morning, and how just like many times before, I ran. The fear of opening up to someone again paralyzing me almost completely.
I stiffened as numerous things clicked into place within my head.
That's why.
My feet led me here to apologize,
and to finally let him in again.
I drew in a sharp breath, before I took the first few steps up to the front porch. As I got closer and closer to the rustic wooden door, the anxiety I felt seemed to just consume me even more.
Millions of questions swirled through my mind as my trembling fingers pressed down on the door bell, but one in particular stuck out from the rest.
Will I be able to keep this promise I'm about to make?
I bit my lip hard once the door creaked open; a baffled looking Ashton appraising me up and down.
"Hey Ash, is um, Luke home?" I mentally slapped myself upside the head for how tiny and unsure I sounded. His eyes scrutionized me with a glare I couldn't quite pin-point as to why as we stared at each ther in silence.
"It's been a while, Kayla." He nodded his head stiffely, before continueing. "And no, he's out right now," An almost unnoticeable smirk made it's way onto his face as he took a step back; letting the door fall completely open. "Would you like to come inside and wait for him?" He gestured to the living room adjacent to the inside of the doorway. I sent him a confused look as I cautiously stepped over the threshold; breathing out a sigh of relief once I was safely inside. If I hadn't gotten Luke to invite me in that one time, then I would be in a real sticky situation as of right now.
"Thanks," I grinned, beggining to walk over to one of the couches. Just as I was only a few paces away, his voice sent a shock of fear through my veins.
"H-How did you get in?!" I whirled around to face him as the fury seeped through his words. Confusion plagued me, until I remembered how Luke knows.
And he isn't the best at keeping secrets.
"Luke told you, didn't he," I managed to choke out just barely above a whisper. The shock that was blatant on his face before was now pure outrage; striking out to the side as he knocked an expensive looking lamp off of the little cabinet they had set up by the door.
"LUKE KNOWS?!" I instinctively shrunk away from the deafening boom of his voice; his face turning an unhealthy shade of red.
