//LUKE'S POV://
"Morning, Luke!" Louise flashed me a grin as she sat on one of the stools at our little island in the middle of the kitchen. Despite it being only 9 in the morning, she was already dressed in a mini skirt and skimpy blouse, and paired with red heels that looked like they surfaced straight from Hell. "How did you sleep?"
"Pretty good, thanks." I nodded slightly before grabbing an apple and turning towards the front door. Even though I made it blatantly obvious I wasn't in the mood to chat, she decided to press on anyways.
"So, I was wondering if you maybe wanted to go somewhere with me today?" I froze; grinding my teeth together in annoyance as she delayed me. I turned around to face her, already conjuring up an excuse.
"I'd love to but, uh, I think Calum and I are going somewhere today..."
"We are?" Calum poked his head around the corner, throwing a confused look towards me. I shot him a glare, mouthing 'go with it', making him even more confused. "What are you trying to say?!"
Louise's eyes narrowed into slits. She pushed herself off of the black stool, and began to strut towards me.
It's shocking how she can even walk in those shoes.
"Calum? Can you go get me my phone from my room please? She bat her eyelashes at him as she made sure her voice sounded as sweet as possible. It worked, as his eyes widdened before he nodded rapidly, and bolted up the stairs in record time. I crossed my arms over my chest and let out a sigh as I awaited for her to speak.
"Alright, we're alone now." I rolled my eyes internally. "What is it that you wanted to say to me? I kinda have to go."
The next few seconds were a blur as she leaned in uncomfortably close, and connected our eyes together. It felt as if I were in a trance; lost in the chocolate brown of her eyes. When she finally pulled away, there was a shit-eating grin plastered on her face; beaming at me.
"Here's your phone, Louise!" Calum chose that moment to scramble down the stairs, and hold a white IPhone out for her to take. She sent him a seductive smile that made me cringe, as she purposely brushed his hand with hers as she took it.
"Thank you, darling." She purred, making his cheeks flush bright red.
"A-Anytime," He stuttered; scratching the back of his head. "So, uh, Luke, did you want to hang out later?"
Just as I was about to agree, words seemed to flow out of my mouth, without me controlling them.
"Sorry Cal, I would but Louise and I have plans." He looked at me incredulously, as just moments ago I was using him as an excuse not to hang out with her. I just shrugged.
Suddenly I wanted to go with her.
Louise had a triumphant grin on her face as I stole a glance at her, oblivious to the dejected Calum standing right across from her.
"Well, I'll, uh-see you guys later..." I made a mad dash for the front door to escape the extremely awkward situation; slipping on my vans in less than 3 seconds. I bolted across the street, before I shuffled through the tall grass towards our swingset.
Now all I have to do is wait.
I lowered myself onto the right dilapidating swing; the rustin chains groaning from the weight. I gently swayed back and forth, kicking the dirt below my feet, and watching as the dust and dirt mixed particles danced in the air. I slowed to a stop, letting a small smile crawl across my face.
