It's been twenty-four hours since the fight.

Twenty-four hours since Gianluca got shot.

Twenty-four hours since he last opened his eyes.

The doctor told us that it was a miracle that he and my mother both made it out alive. Down fall is that they're both unconscious for the time being so that when they wake up the pain won't hurt as much. They both had bullet wounds in the stomach and right now, time is the only thing we have.

Once all the information was given to us, my family—and Gianluca's demanded for questions. It was obvious something had happened between us because you don't just cry out of pure pain for someone you barely know. Dad wasn't too happy when I explained our story. Neither was Angelo. Finding out that your son has had a crush on your enemy's daughter since high school looks bad but to my surprise, he wasn't at all shocked. Just furious with his son. Something did surprise me, though.

When my story telling was over, Angelo was the first one to step forwards. I thought he was going to kill me but instead, this big bad mafia leader gave me a hug. My enemy gave me a hug—but it wasn't any ordinary hug, but a bone crushing one. In a way, it was a sign of respect and acceptance but I just felt completely awkward and so did he. Erica and the triplets weren't too far behind after the hug and once they pulled away, dad sent me a warm smile. Luci on the other hand was grinning deviously as she knew the entire time.

"I'm so happy you found someone to love Phoebs. You deserve it. Even if he's the son of our worst enemy. Its okay. As long as you're happy, I'm happy." Dad said. After the truth came out, we all sat together in the hospital waiting room for further instructions about our loved ones. The triplets, my sister and I began playing some cards, as Gianluca's parents and my dad were finally having a civilized conversation.

"Mr. Peragine?" A man calls causing all of us to turn around. Our doctor stands a couple of feet away from my family, with a warm smile on his face. This means good news.

"Yes?" Dad stands up in an intimidating way. I watch with a smirk on my face as the doctor begins to get worried.

"Uh... y-your wife i-is awake. W-Would you l-like to see h-her?" The man stutters.

All my father does is nod his head at the doctor as he looks back at Luciana and I. "Let's go girls." Nodding our heads, we quickly rush to our mothers hospital room with a scared middle aged doctor showing us the way.

Once we arrive at her door, the doctor opens it for us with a shaky hand and a nervous facial expression. "T-Take a-all the t-time you n-need..." With that the doctor quickly walks away.

Dad begins to laugh as I punch him in the shoulder. "What?" He continues to laugh.

"You did that on purpose to scare the poor guy!" I narrow my eyes at him as I place my hands on my hips.

"Not nice Daddy!" Luciana says as she crosses her arms over her chest.

Dad shrugs and walks in. "Doesn't matter." His head snaps to mom as a smile grows on his face. "Hey honey."

He makes his way to her bed as Luci and I walk in after him. Closing the door behind us, I see mom laying down in bed. She looks pale and warn-out with bruises all over her body. My father is on her right while my sister managed to hop onto her bed.

Mom reaches over to hold Luciana's hand as dad gives her a kiss on the cheek. Looking at me, she gives me a big smile. "What? Aren't you going to hug your mother?"
