{~~Chapter 18~~}
Gia was dragged out of the nightmare when she felt like somebody was stabbing her heart repeatedly. She sat up, putting her hand over her heart and screamed. Tears flowed down her cheeks and she curled up in a ball, Alek's mark throbbing and her heart aching agonizingly. Azael and Ariane ran into the room and Azael ran to her side, pulling her against him. Her nails dug into her chest, her heart pounding under her grip. "It hurts! It hurts so much," she sobbed. Ariane couldn't look at the scene anymore and looked away, even though its happened all three nights they've been here. Azael tried to calm his sister, but he knew only Alek could stop the pain and comfort her. He grabbed his titulum and drew a sleep mark on her shoulder blade. Her body went limp against his chest and her cries died down. He sighed and laid her back down on the bed, pulling the blankets over her small, shivering body. He stayed there for at least twenty minutes before Ariane spoke to him. "It's only going to keep happening until she gets back to Alexander. The same goes for him. She must be feeling his pain, adding on to her own. This isn't going to be a smooth ride, Azael, not at all." She sighed, shaking her head. Azael looked down, thoughts of having to put on a sleep mark on his baby sister everyday they've been here made him feel terrible.
He shook his head, running his hand through his hair and standing up. "I wish we would've just stayed, I don't want to put a sleep mark on her everyday we're here - forget about waking up every night from her screaming her lungs out in pain." He sighed tiredly and looked down at Gia. Ariane looked up at him. "I know how you feel. After my brother's heart was broken, he would stay locked in his room and scream, punching holes in his bedroom walls." She said softly and Azael looked down at her. "Getting your heart broken is the most pain I've ever felt." Ariane smiled lightly and nodded. "Yeah. Well, the first time a werewolf shifts is excruciating since your entire body has to shape into your wolf, so a heartbreak is nothing compared to that. But a heart break is definitely very painful." She said and Azael looked out the window, the mid-afternoon sunlight streaming in through the curtains. "I can only imagine the pain Alek and Gia are dealing with. They're mates, so it isn't good for them to be apart." Ariane put a hand on his shoulder. "No, not at all. She could get deathly sick if she's away from him for too long. She hasn't been eating, or sleeping. It's going to be hard for her to do anything until she gets back to him," she said and Azael whirled on her. "Then why'd you bring her out here if you know what will happen to her if she's away from Alexander for too long?" He hissed, walking closer to her. Her eyes widened and she backed up. "I am not trying to kill her, Azael. I need her help, yours, too. You don't know what they are planning." She said and Azael narrowed his dark red eyes at her and stopped, looking back at Gia. "We shouldn't have even come here. If I had known she would be hurting this badly, I wouldn't have allowed her to leave." He hissed and pushed past Ariane, making her fly across the room and slam against the wall. He didn't care and went downstairs.
He went outside, his blood boiling. He immediately grabbed his daemon blade, backing up. "Shit!" In front of him stood a huge hellhound. It was at least eight feet tall and was bulking with muscle, saliva dripping from its jowls. It growled and roared, lunging at him. He prepared himself, but the hell dweller yelped loudly and fell to the ground. Azael blinked in confusion and then saw Gia pulling her daemon blade out of the fallen hellhounds chest. She whipped the blood on her pants and Azael could clearly see the affects of her being away from Alek. She had shadows around hers eyes from lack of sleep and her eyes were dull and looked like she lost weight. She looked up at him with an emotionless mask covering the agony he knew she felt. "Not a word. I know what I just did wasn't natural, or possible." She snapped and went to push past him, but he stopped her. She stumbled back a few steps and glared at him. He shook his head, sadness and sympathy in his dark red eyes. She moved faster than he did and pinned him against the house, her hands fisted in his shirt and face was beyond pissed, rage making her eyes change to gold with slitted pupils. He flinched at the hate and anger his sister showed him now. "I said not a word. I'm not listening to your pity, I don't want it." She hissed and pulled away. Gia felt his eyes boring in her back as she stormed back inside. She felt tears well up in her eyes, but she clenched her eyes shut and clenched her teeth. Rage flowed through her with ease and she slammed the glass side door shut, making it shatter and made cracks in the wall around the door. Ariane ran down the stairs and went to put a hand on Gia's shoulder, but stopped when she could feel the electricity flowing through Gia's body and radiating off of her. Ariane could feel the power and anger radiating off of Gia and took a step back. Gia didn't look at her and brushed past her, electrocuting her. "I'll be training, don't come down if you need me." She growled lowly and went downstairs to the training room. It was very similar to the Burns Guard.
