today was a great day. i was at my locker when you came up to me, a smile on your face and hints of pink flourishing on your cheeks.

"hey, zach," you said with a grin. i closed my locker, turning to you with wide eyes and a sheepish smile.

"o-oh, hey corbyn," i greeted. i looked at you curiously as if to ask you why you were talking to me. sure, we were friends, but people like you don't typically just come up to people like me.

"uh, do you wanna, maybe come to the football game with me and a few of my friends tonight? i'd love to have you there with us." i was ecstatic to say the least. but i played it off cool, at least i hope i did.

"u-um, sure," i stuttered, blushing a little bit. "sounds like fun."

"dope, see you tonight," you grinned, giving me a fist bump. it was such a simple and innocent gesture. i think i'll treasure it for a while though.

afterwards, i went and told my best friend, daniel about it.

"zach, no fucking way!" he squealed. "this is so good! you're gonna be so cute together and your wedding will be so magical and your babies will be so adorable and-"

"okay, okay, shut up!" i glared, covering his mouth with my hand. he just laughed.

throughout the rest of the school day, i had a grin on my face. at our last class, you kept looking back at me and smiling. my heart fluttered. at the end of the class, you came up to me.

"i'm hyped for the game, tonight," you told me.

"oh, totally! me too," agreed, knowing full well that i barely knew anything about high school football. it wouldn't matter, though, as long as i was with you.

the bus ride home was boring, but my head was clouded with thoughts of you. i like you, a lot. i wish i could tell you.

i should start getting ready, the game starts soon. you told me earlier that you'd wait outside the gate for me and we'd buy our tickets together. god, i like you a lot. and god, i wish i could tell you.
