Percy took a deep breath. He would have to time this really well and use the force midair to make sure the ice sheet won't fall when he steps onto it and take him down into the abyss alongside it.

He jumped and started gathering the water particles and froze them. As his foot touched the ice, the voice rang out even louder in his head, piercing through his skull. He felt his control over the force fail, and he fell, unconscious.

"PERCY!"

"PERCY!"

Now:

No one's POV:

As Percy fell down the abysslike hole, Leo and Cyrus rushed to the edge in hopes of helping their companion, but he was already out of sight.

"Cyrus, he just fell down," Leo commented calmly.

"Indeed Leo, he did."

"We're doomed.

"Indeed we are."

"We need to figure out a way to get him back."

"Indeed we do."

Can you please stop that," Leo snapped annoying at Cyrus, not in the mood for the jokes when one of his best friends was in potential danger."

"Sorry."

The wind was roaring in his ears as he felt his body falling. His eyes were closed, awaiting for the dreaded moment when his body pancakes itself onto earth. He fought monster, titans, even Gaia for Hades sake. But here he was. On his merry way to the underworld just because some voice decided to speak the exact moment when he was in a life and death situation.

What's taking so long?

He was falling for too long now. The fall to Tartarus was a lot longer but this isn't Tartarus. Hesitantly, he opened his eyes and was surprised to see himself suspended in blackness. Just like when he tried to find this cursed temple. But this time it felt calm, soothing.

"PERCY JACKSON" A booming voice, the same voice that caused this mess, echoed through the dark. Percy had no idea how to react. He had no idea who this was or what they wanted. And as his experience and sad life proved to show, beings who both those questions could be applied to usually meant trouble.

"Er.... hi?"

For a couple of minutes, there was just silence. But for those few silent moments, Percy could feel someone looking at him. A strong and unsettling feeling of worry started growing in his chest as he continued feeling the scrutinising gaze of the source of the voice - which felt like it was everywhere.

"You've finally come. You are necessary for the shaping of the future. I know what you have gone through, and I sincerely apologise for dragging you into this, but there was no one else as suitable as you."

"That's great and all, but why the hell am I here? And who are you?"

"I cannot explain who I am. Not that I won't, but that I cannot. But I do assure you, I mean you no harm. I'm simply fulfilling my role in the universe. Nothing more, nothing less. And for what you're here for, I've already explained. Without your interference, the future will not follow the right course. The universe will fall apart. Ever heard of the butterfly effect? One small action can cause an avalanche in the branches of time. Your role is to make sure that those you've come to know in this world survive. Not all of them. This is a war after all and as you know very well, no war can be fought without deaths and sacrifices. I cannot tell you who must survive, but as long as you get involved, those necessary for the years to come will live on."

"No offence, but what if I don't want to. Of course, I have to save Ahsoka. It was my fault in the first place that she's in danger and we're friends. There's nothing I wouldn't do for my friends. But how am I supposed to feel better knowing that my presence is only meant for some to survive, but not for others? How is that fair?"

"That is not for you to know, or decide. All you need to know, I have told you. All that is left for you to do, is to fulfil your duty. But I can console you if only by a little bit. Time runs faster in this world than it does in yours. When you complete your given prophecy and return, only half a year would have passed there, despite you already being here for over a year."

Percy let the information sink in. It didn't seem like there was anything he could do. He would just continue with his prophecy as he was planning to and ignore this. It would make him feel better forgetting that he could only save the chosen few.

"Oh yeah. Nearly forgot. Just so you know, this isn't the last time you'll be in this world. Your role in this world is far from over and you will be back. Make sure you're prepared. Just warning you. Now then I think your friends have worried enough now. Don't worry. You've only been gone for fifteen minutes. I'll send you back and you have to continue down that corridor. Continue down it and you'll find a portal thing that will send you to Ahsoka's location. Good luck."

And suddenly Percy found himself falling again but this time he landed. On something soft and furry. Really soft and furry.

"Oi brat. Get your heavy ass off of me. First, you worry us to death and then you land on me?!"

Percy had landed on Cyrus who was anything but happy resulting on him being thrown off, nearly falling into the same dark hole. Thankfully Leo managed to catch him before that happened.

"Cyrus!! Stop moving!" Leo yelled. "We just got him back and you want to get rid of him again?"

"Sorry. I didn't mean to."

"And I didn't think I was that heavy. Am I?" Percy asked the fox. His question was answered however with another question.

"Where were you?"

"I'll tell you on the way. Right now, we need to head down that dark tunnel and we should get to Ahsoka. Hopefully."

Percy quickly started to walk down, the other two jogging slightly to catch up to their companion, ready to start interrogating him.
