William P.O.V

I remained in my car outside Kristen's house, feeling both anxious and hungry. I wasn't sure why I had driven all the way here, but the feeling that I needed to see her wouldn't go away. A part of me wanted to turn around and leave, to protect her from myself. But another part, the one that ached for her smile and her touch, urged me to stay. I struggled with both of these feelings as I waited, my heart racing with excitement and my mind clouded with doubt.

Her scent was irresistible, pulling me closer with every breath I took. I needed to stick to the plan and be cautious around her. I shouldn't get too close.

I was drawn to the rhythmic beat of her heart and the gentle hum of her voice, which seemed to resonate from a distance. It felt like a thousand drums pounding at once. The urge to see her was driving me crazy, even though we'd only met a few moments ago. Her vanilla scent was intoxicating. I parked the car a few blocks away and circled her house, searching for a way in without being noticed.

I noticed the lights in her room were on and quietly climbed the pipe to her window, listening to her soft voice humming a song. I felt like a fool for acting like a teenager, driven by an irresistible pull.

The scent of her was so tempting that I almost gave in to the urge to break down the bathroom door. Don't lose control, I told myself repeatedly as I climbed inside. She didn't know who I was, and she must never find out until I had taken her back.

"William!!!" she gasped, clutching her bath towel tightly to her chest. She stood frozen in the doorway of her bathroom, clearly embarrassed. I felt a pang of guilt for invading her privacy, knowing I shouldn't have snuck into her room. The temptation to be near her had been too strong. Now, as she stood before me wrapped in a towel, water droplets glistening like diamonds on her skin, sliding from her wet brown hair and trickling down her legs, I couldn't tear my eyes away.

I gulped, unable to meet her eyes. I knew I had crossed a line, and I feared that if I looked directly at her, I would lose all control. I stammered an apology, struggling to find the right words to explain my actions, but I knew that nothing I said could fully make up for my intrusion. I braced myself for her anger, expecting her to demand that I leave.

Instead, she just stared at me with a mix of confusion and curiosity. I waited with bated breath for her response, unsure of how she would react.

"William? What are you doing here? How did you get in?" I demanded, hands on my hips. "Why didn't you use the front door like a normal person?" My eyebrows furrowed in confusion and suspicion.

William shifted nervously under my gaze, looking like a mischievous child caught in the act. He tried to come up with a plausible excuse, but his mind went blank. He stumbled over his words, then casually pulled out a chair and sat down, folding his arms behind his head as if he wasn't an intruder. His button-down shirt stretched over his muscles, revealing his toned abs. I gulped when I realized I was standing in front of him in just a towel that barely covered my lower body.

"I missed you," he said, winking at me in the same way he did in college.

"What?" I stammered, looking at him skeptically. I didn't fully believe him.

"I never thought I'd get to see you like this," he said, his eyes scanning my body as if he were memorizing every feature. My face turned scarlet red. I grabbed my PJs and T-shirt and rushed into the bathroom to change.

When I came out, he was gone, as if he had never been there. "William!" I called out, stepping out of my room hesitantly. I hurried downstairs and found the door locked from the inside. "William?" I called again, scanning the entire house. He wasn't there. I unlocked the door and stepped outside; the road was empty.

"Is it a dream?" I wondered aloud, going back inside. But how could a dream feel so real? I went to my room and saw the window shut as if it had never been opened. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me.
