(Y/n) lets out a loud sigh as the two continue their search for any ghosts. Sal looked over at her and asked. "You ok?" She nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. I think we should go to the 5th floor." They headed over to the elevator and arrive at the corrupted floor.
They entered room 502 and walk over to the bird caged that lied on the ground. The Gear Boy acted up again as Sal goes to press the button once more. An orange symbol pops up, letting the two studies it a bit before it disappears. The two glance at each and continue searching the room. Finding that there was nothing else, they exit out to the hallway.
They walked over to room 501 to see if it was unlocked. Unfortunately, it wasn't, but the Gear Boy picked up something again. A red symbol pops up before vanishes, making (Y/n) mumble. "That didn't look good..."
They thought they found enough and decided to go to Todd's place. They enter his apartment and room to see him on his computer, typing something. They approach him as he rips his eyes away from the screen and starts to say. "It's strange but I can't find any reports of past murders. The only one that comes up is our friend, Charley, but look at this photo of him on the public record."
Todd moves his chair away as the two looked at the screen with furrowed brows. Their eyes widen when the photo they were seeing was not Charley, but instead, someone else. "What the..." Both (Y/n) and Sal mumble.
"It gets even weirder," Todd states, "There's no trace of any of the officers that were here the day Mrs. Sanderson was killed. Not even in the classified police records. It's as if they weren't here at all or like they don't even exist."
"How is that possible?' Puzzled Sal while Todd continues. "I'm not sure but I'm going to keep looking into things. Check back in a little while." They nodded. "Ok, (Y/n) and I are going to keep searching for more supernatural stuff in the meantime."
"Perfect." They then leave and decided to go to Charley's old place first before going to Larry's, just in case if they missed anything. The Gear Boy, again, started to react and a green symbol popped up and vanished. "Umm... what?" (Y/n) cocked an eyebrow while Sal just shrugged. After that, they then arrived at Larry's place again and scooped out the area. The Gear acted up and a purple symbol flashed before vanishing.
"Well, we should probably go check in with Todd again and see if he's found anything." (Y/n) said as they headed over to his place once more. They opened his door and Todd glanced at them. "I found something interesting. It's a missing person case from 1987. Megan Holmes. Age 7. Lived in Addison Apartments with her parents Luke and Stacy. Looks like it may be your little friend from upstairs. She must be the daughter that Greg, from my bathroom, was telling us about. The stories line up, right? Well, here's where it gets weird again: there's an update to the report, one day after the original was filed, stating that the girl was found dead in Wendigo Lake, that's a few miles south of here, along with her parents. Says they had been fishing and fell into the river and drown. Some kind of "mudslide" or something."
Todd hands (Y/n) the picture of Megan when she was alive. Sal peered over her shoulder, saying. "That's definitely her..." He then noticed a cross necklace on Megan's neck and points out. "Wait a second... I've seen that necklace before, I know I have! She's never wearing it when we talk to her but I've seen it somewhere else."
"Since you guys haven't been able to summon her, even with the Super Gear Boy, perhaps finding that necklace will help somehow."
"That actually makes a lot of sense! It's something she had a connection to when she was alive. Now I just need to remember where the hell I saw that thing."
