I woke up to the smell of something sweet filling my nostrils. My eyelids slowly began to peal open, fighting the urge to go back to sleep. I opened my eyes and looked around the room. Where am I? Oh, that’s right. I’m in Harry’s room. I pulled back the covers and stood up, stretching and my bones cracking in protest. I walked out of Harry’s room and into the kitchen, my nose following the smell. I saw all the boys sitting at the table chatting with Harry who was cooking the breakfast. Liam noticed me and waved. All the others turned and waved as well. I walked over to Harry who was standing at the stove cooking some bacon, pancakes, and eggs.

“Smells delicious,” I told him.

“Thank you,” he said smiling. “How’d you sleep?”

“Wonderfully. Your bed is extremely comfortable.”

He chuckled. “I’m glad.”

“Is there anything I can help you with?”

“No you’re not allowed to help. You’re a guest. Now go sit over there with the lads.” I opened my mouth to protest but he shot me a glare that kept me silent.

I walked on over to the table and sat next to Louis. The boys were talking about something but my mind was still clouded with sleep to try and keep up.

“Food’s done,” Harry called.

The boys all raced to the kitchen, while I took my time walking slowly. I got to the kitchen only to see all the boys giving Harry a glare. “What’s going on?” I asked.

“Harry won’t let us eat until you got your food first,” Niall whined. Aw poor kid was hungry.

“Harry you could just let the boys eat.” Harry shook his head. “Alright hold on boys I’ll be quick.” I took a plate and loaded it up with eggs, bacon, and pancakes. I grabbed a glass of milk and made my way back to the table. By the time I had loaded up my pancakes with butter and syrup, the other boys had joined me at the table. I was now sitting in between Harry and Louis. I took a bite of my pancake. It was so good! Harry sure knew how to cook. I turned towards him. “Will you be my personal chef from now on?” I asked him dead serious.

He laughed. “Don’t worry love. I’ll make you food whenever you want.”

I smiled happily and turned back to my food, savoring every bite. I tuned into the boys conversation. They were trying to figure out what to do today.

“What about you Riley? What do you want to do today?” Liam asked.

“Well, um, actually I was going to paint my apartment today. I want to do it before the furniture comes,” I explained to them. They nodded their heads.

“Can we help you?” Niall asked.

My eyes widened. These boys wanted to waste their day helping me paint? “Oh, no boys. You don’t have to waste your day. I got it, honestly,” I told them, trying to persuade them to do something else.

“No that’s a great idea Niall. We want to help you. It’ll be fun. It won’t be wasting a day if we are all with each other,” Liam said.

“Really guys. You don’t have to. I already feel like I’ve caused such a hassle for you guys.”

“I, for one, love painting. And two, it’s not like we had anything else planned for today,” Zayn said.

“Yeah we want to help you,” Louis said enthusiastically.

I opened my mouth to protest when Harry leaned his head toward me and whispered in my ear. “They are never going to quit unless you let them help you. There’s also no way you are getting rid of me. I’m helping you for sure, so you might as well let them too.”
