Broken Wings

Chapter 29

                  Jessica's POV:

I had to leave Arizona early this morning , Carl misses his dad and he cannot stay at my parents house anymore .
He's not used to leave Alex for that long , plus I think I am supposed to stay with my husband at the hospital. Isn't it what a good wife should do ? 
I put carl in his carseat , kissed my mom goodbye and left .

Every time  I go to Arizona , I remember my life before I got married to Alex . How happy I was and how free I felt . No responsibilities, no waking up early , beautiful body and plenty of open relationships. I guess I didn't get quite along with the idea of marriage and eternal commitments .
Some people like it , some people maybe get used to it but I couldn't like anything that puts limits to my personal freedom. 
But at the same time I cannot give up on Alex , we've been together for a long time and I cannot imagine him being for someone else but me. Maybe I am possessive or selfish, but he's mine and soon I am going to find out who's  Elizabeth and why I was told to be careful of her .
Alex has never cheated on me , even when I cheat on him he stays loyal , thanks to Carl , he has saved our relationship so many times.

The flight was short , we took a taxi straight to the hospital where Alex was .
Carl saw his daddy few minutes then the nanny took him since he was not allowed to stay at the hospital.
Alex was being very formal as usual  , but less stressed I have no idea why . I myself got used to us being like this , the most important thing for me is not to get divorced and ruin Carl's life .

While I was in the room's toilet washing my face . I heard knocking on the door and then a lot of voices filled the room .
when I heard them calling" Mr Alexander " I
knew that his students are coming to visit him .

Elizabeth picture came quickly on my mind , on her facebook it said that she is a student at the same college where Alex teaches . I glanced at the mirror , fixed my hair and put  some make up on . What if she was here ? I should look pretty and confident and show her that she can never be my competitor if that was the case .

I went out  and greeted everyone, they all looked cute sitting everywhere , trying to make Alex feel better by throwing jokes and making fun of each other .

There was a girl that stood silent and was only smiling , I am ninety percent she's Elizabeth, she looks a lot like the girl I saw on facebook . Damn she is beautiful and young , our eyes met more than once , and Alex wasn't able to get his eyes off her .
When everyone was joking , they were staring at each other , and the inside of me was burning like fire . I never saw Alex looking at someone the way he's looking at her , as if he's telling her something through his eyes .

I decided to play the stupid role and pretend that nothing is going on . I stood up from my chair and sat next to Alex , kissed him and held his hand . I wanted to make her feel what I am feeling right now .

"Hey honey , is there's anything I can bring to you ? " I said pretending to be the caring wife .

Alex  turned his face and looked at me as if he didn't understand what I was doing . The jerk took his hand off me and said.

" I am fine " and looked again at this little troublemaker. She was red , her face was down as if she was  fighting  the floor .

" So how did you guys meet? " one of the students asked . I was so happy with that question , things were going the way I wanted them to .  

I pinched Alex who stood silent , trying to runaway from the question , but he didn't say anything .

" hum .. it's a funny story , well I had a crush on a friend that he knew nothing about , and I was pretending to be his best friend so I can be always near him , and one day he called me saying that his friend has 3 tickets for a basketball game and asked me if I wanted to go .. well I didn't hesitate at all , by the time I was there , my friend called and apologized for not coming his car was broken. And his friend was waiting for me in the food court to give me the ticket , and there was Alex . The minute I saw him I forgot about the whole world . He blew my mind and my heart . We spent an unforgettable night and everyday with him since that night is unforgettable and ...there's no need for more details right ? " I chuckled and everyone was laughing except Alex who was looking at me as if he was going to kill me , and Elizabeth was about to explode.

And that was the best part . Although she seems like a nice girl but it is better for her to stay away from my husband .

" If you would excuse me , I have to go , they need me at work " Elizabeth said , it was very obvious that she couldn't stay any longer .

" You came with me , wait few minutes and we go together" one of the girls said , apparently she was her friend .
 
" No , you don't have to ,  I already ordered an Uber " she replied , grabbed her bag , and said goodbye to everyone ,
She didn't even look at Alex.

" Wait , let me walk you to the elevator " I said , I am not done yet with her .

" No you really don't have to " her tears were about to come out. She couldn't even look me in the eyes .

" please I insist ".

We walked together till the elevators, none of us said any word . And before she entered it , I grabbed her by her hand and said.

" You better stay away from my husband
You little bitch or I promise you I'll make you cry not for tonight only , but for the rest of your life , Don't you dare ruin our happy marriage "

The elevator closed , I left her crying like babies .I grabbed my phone opened my messenger , and sent the anonymous a message :
" Thank you for your advice , please give me the chance to thank you in person ".
