Chapter 19

• Mackenzie's POV •

I woke up and looked at the time; 7:43. Today is magcon. Yeah, I'm excited but I'm also kinda nervous I don't know why. I got up and showered quickly and changed into a loose white crop top, high waisted jean shorts, an infinity necklace, and my white vans. I straightened my hair and put on my normal, simple makeup.

I heard a phone go off and realized it was mine.

From 💛💕 Mara bear 💕💛: hey! I'm going to magcon todayyyy!! What hotel are you at? We should hang out

I was so excited! I jumped around, but I realized there were 4 other teens boys in the room at this moment. Nash, Hayes, Hunter, and Cameron wouldn't be up anytime soon, so I left the room, making sure to grab the spare key. I texted Mara back and she's coming I the hotel any minute.

When I got down to the lobby, a little blonde girl came up to me. "Do you know my brother?" She asked looking at me with her brown eyes. I bent down at her level. "Who's your brother?" I asked smiling. "Nash." She said simply. Ohh so this is his little sister. She's so cute! "Yeah, I do." I said smiling at her.

I heard my name yelled, when I looked up I saw Mara. We hugged eachother, and I met Nash's mom and his Stepdad. I also learned Nash's sister's name is Skylynn. "Can we see Nash?" Skylynn asked giving me puppy eyes. "Ask your parents." I said smiling and she ran over to her parents.

I was holding Skylynn's hand while walking up to the room as Mara and I talked. "So what's new?" Mara asked smiling. "A lot." I said sighing. "Spill it." She said as we walked out of the elevator. "Basically.. I live in Indiana. Nash and Hayes are staying with Cameron. Nash is a pain in the butt! Like seriously, especially when we drive I always have to sit on his lap because I want to sit in the front." When I said that, Mara smirked but I just rolled my eyes.

"Anyways, I started school and I met many friends. Dillon, Nash, Cameron, and Jada are my main homies. I started dating Taylor, you know, Caniff. Which recently, as you know was his birthday. I flew up here to surprise him and found out he was cheating on me." I said letting go of Skylynn's hand to grab the room key. "Now, Skylynn. Wake up Nash, Hayes, and Cameron, plus Hunter." I said opening the door.

"Wow that's a lot that happened." Mara whispered as we entered. I just nodded and watched Skylynn. She looked back at me and I nodded at her. Next thing you know, she's screaming and jumping on everyone. I couldn't help but laugh and neither could Mara. "NASH HAYES IM HERE! WAKE UP!" Skylynn yelled and sat on Nash.

After a minute, Nash looked up at Skylynn and flipped so she was under him. "Skylynn!" He said getting off top of her and hugging her. "Nash!" She yelled back.

After everyone had their moment, I announced Mara and I were going to walk around. "I'm sorry." Mara said hugging me. "Sorry for what?" I asked confused. "I-I never texted you and I feel horrible." She said frowning. "You did text me, don't worry." I said hugging back.

"Woah, who's this?" I heard from behind me. I pulled away from the hug and saw Taylor smirking. "This is my best friend from before I moved, Mara." I said looking back at Mara. "Hi." She said smiling. "I'm Taylor." He said smirking. "Okay, well we're gonna go so uhh- bye!" I said walking away with Mara. "What was that?" Mara asked. "I don't know." I replied confused.

We walked to the mall a few blocks down from the hotel to just chill. When we got to the mall, we walked in and many girls started walking up to us asking for pictures. I took some pictures and signed some things until I heard a loud screem. "TAYLOR CANIFF!!!!" You've got to be joking..

"Why's he here?" Mara asked and I shrugged. "I don't know.." I said walking into Spencer's behind Mara. "Have you guys heard? Today is Magcon, and the Taylor Caniff is here!" Some girl said smiling and was over happy. "That's great." I said and walked out of the store. Mara walked after me and I felt someone hug me. "It's ok." Mara said hugging me.

I wanted to believe Mara, but something made me think I couldn't because Taylor had cheated on me, and almost seemed like he was flirting with my best friend.

I thanked Mara and we walked over to the Apple Store. Whenever we went there, we would take funny pictures on the IMac Pros. There was this one time, when I wasn't paying attention and Mara took the picture and it was really funny.

We took pictures, messed around, and we bought matching phone cases. As we were leaving, my phone went off. I answered it and talked to Cameron on the phone.

I hung up angry. "We have to go back now." I said frustrated. "Why are you mad?" Mara asked confused. "Taylor has to take us home because if we walk, we won't be there in time for magcon." I said going down the escalator. "Oh poop." Mara said and we started laughing. "Where do we meet him?" Mara asked. "Here, you can call him." I said and gave her Taylor's number.

• Mara's POV •

Kenzie gave me Taylor's number so I called him.

"Hello?" Taylor asked and I could hear screaming girls around him. "Hey, it's Mara.. Did Cameron tell you?" I asked him. "Hey beautiful." He said completely ignoring what I asked. "Taylor! That's not right! Did Cameron tell you or not." I was practically screaming into my phone. "Yeah, he told me. Meet me at the food court. Can't wait to see your beautiful face." He said and hung up.

"What did he say?" Kenzie asked as I groaned. "What-uh he just said to meet him at the food court." I said trying to hide it. "Mara.. What did Taylor tell you?" She asked sounding more sad. "He-he was calling me beautiful, and that's why I said it's not right. I'm so sorry." I said apologizing. I wasn't even pretty, so why would he say that? He better not be trying to make Kenzie jealous.

• Mackenzie's POV •

Taylor was.. He was flirting with Mara. "I'm walking back." I said and picked up the pace. "Wait what do you mean? Do you hate me?" Mara asked coming up next to me. "No, I don't hate you. I'm just.. I can't go with him." I said simply. When we got to the food court, there was a big crowd. "Well, I'm not leaving you alone so I'm going with you." Mara said smiling. I smiled at her and walked to the door.

"Hey let's go!" I heard from the voice I know, Taylor. "No." I said simply. "No what? You have to. Cameron said." Taylor said opening the door for me out of the mall. I ignored him and walked to the other doors with Mara following me. "Mackenzie you have to go with me." He said smirking. "No I don't." I said shrugging. "But Cameron said." He said smirking again.

That's it.. I flipped. "I don't care what Cameron says! I don't care about him or you! All you care about is yourself and your player ways! I knew you never liked me, and don't deny it, because if you do, then why were uo flirting with MY bestfriend!" I yelled and stormed away from Taylor and Mara. "Kenzie wait!" I heard the voice of Mara yell.

"You don't understand. You told me it would get better and be ok. Well it's not. I've lost all hope." I said crying and Mara just hugged me. "Promise. I promise it will. Maybe not right away, but I promise. And I'll be here." She said pulling away and smiling. "Now let's go to magcon." She said smiling and I nodded. From there, we walked back to the hotel to get ready.
