Lucie sat at her desk eating her Chinese take out, typing away. She was making revision notes and guides for upcoming finals. It wasn't her usual Christmas Eve but she had decided to stay at home so she had to deal with it.

All she was doing was getting Postmates and cramming for finals for the next week. Everyone had gone home for the holidays so she went downstairs to do her work by the fire, in the common room.

She quietly tiptoed in and was instantly met with a handsome young man sitting next to the fire warming up. The girl stood starring for a while until he turned around.

"Hi" He smiled.
"Oh uh hey" She stuttered.
"Raphael Hindley... you can call me Raph" The man introduced, stretching his hand out.
"Lucie Jones" she replied, shaking it.
"Come sit down" He ushered.

Lucie walked over and sat next to Raphael on the couch.
"So what's a pretty girl like you here alone at Christmas?" He questioned with a smirk on his face.
"What's me being pretty got anything to do with me being here alone?" She questioned.
"It was meant to be a compliment! I thought you'd probably be with boyfriend or girlfriend during this season" He laughed back.
"Well no. I haven't got a boyfriend and my friends and family are away" She replied.

"So what about you? How come you're here alone?" She asked.
"Needed to focus on revision for finals so I stayed here instead of flying home" Raphael explained.
"Basically the same as me. What are you majoring in?" Lucie wondered.
"Film and Broadcasting" Raph said, moving closer to the fire.
"Wow that's so cool!" Lucie exclaimed.

"So what are you doing tomorrow?" Lucie asked closing her laptop.
"Nothing. Just hanging around my dorm and the cafeteria" Raph replied.
"Well that's not very Christmassy. We should meet up and go for Lunch or something?" She suggested.
"Definitely!" He smiled.

The two exchanged numbers and Instagram names, then said their goodbyes.

As Lucie walked back to her room her stomach filled with butterflies. She smiled as soon as she got back to her room but quickly wiped it away. The girl felt extremely guilty that she found Raphael attractive. It wasn't right so she decided not to think about it anymore.
