The man and I ran out of the house and kept running. Panting, I struggled to keep up with him. It seemed as though he did this often, for he looked controlled and determined, with a bit of glee in the mix. Finally, we arrived at a blue box. "A- A phone box? Really?" I asked with surprise in between deep breaths. He smirked, and ran right inside of it. Not wanting to be left alone, I followed him in. My eyes widened upon arriving inside, and I stumbled backwards. Rushing back outside, i looked at the phone box more closely.
It looked ordinary, tiny and blue. Tiny. Very tiny. But then I went back inside and looked once more. Gaping, I said in shock, " it's bigger.. Bigger on the inside!"
" I know!" The man said. "Cool, isn't it ?" I nodded , and began to get dizzy. Suddenly, my vision turned black and I hit the ground, going into unconsciousness.
---------
I woke up on a bed in a little room. The room looked nice, with flowers lining the walls and a pink dresser in the corner. Groaning, I sat up, holding my head. Remembering what had happened, my eyes got big and I began to hyperventilate. I needed my inhaler, which was in my bag in my house. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't think. Then the man walked in.
"It's alright". He said in a soft voice. "Your okay. Focus on me, okay?" I looked into his eyes, panicking. He took my hand and gently pressed something into it. "Here," he whispered. Gasping for air, I saw what he put in my hand. My inhaler. I took it, and I began to calm down. I could breathe again. "Who are you?" I asked.
" I'm the doctor. " He smiled warmly.
"Doctor who?" I asked. He laughed quietly .
"That's the question, isn't it?" He laughed again. "Just the doctor. That's me."
Puzzled, I nodded. "Doctor, what was in my house?"
He frowned. "That was a Cyberman. Which is an alien."
Scared, I tried to comprehend it. An alien? My father was an alien? And then there was the fact that I was an orphan now, and homeless too. Now that I woke up, the doctor was sure to leave me. I would have to fend for myself. Silently, I began to cry. The doctor awkwardly hugged me, rubbing my back soothingly. Swallowing the rest of my cries, I sat back up and wiped my tears away.
"What's your name?" The doctor asked me.
"Emily." I replied sadly.
"Well, Emily." He began. " How would you like to travel with me? You know the phone box we were in when you passed out? We are still in it. It's called the Tardis, which stands for Time And Relative Dimension In Space. I use it to travel through time and space, and fight aliens along the way. I am a time lord, which is a type of alien. But I promise you, I will keep you safe."
"Sure, I will travel with you." I respond. The doctor grins.
"Brilliant."
" Can I ask one more question? " I ask shyly.
"That was a question , but yes, you can ask another one." He laughs.
"How did I never notice my dad was a cyberman ? He killed my mum when I was young; she warned me what not to do. And then he killed her."
"Perception field. I'm sorry for your loss. What was her name ? " he asked.
"Amelia Pond. And my dad's name was supposedly Rory Williams, but who knows. " I sigh. " I go by the name Emily Pond, not Williams, so I doesn't matter what his name is.
The doctor is staring at me in shock. "Amy." He whispered. Now that I think about it, she did go by the name Amy.
"Yeah, did you know her?" I ask.
He continues to stare at me. " Your Amy ponds daughter? " he asks in awe. Confused, I just nod.
" But.... How ?" He asks. I don't know what he is referring to.
" Well, I'm adopted. My parents were very old and couldn't have children."
"Of course." The doctor whispered. shaking his head, he stood up. "Alright, come on, get up! Let's go on an adventure! How old did you say you were?"
Standing up, I stretch. "13."
"Brilliant! So, what is your dream place? Do you want to go in the past, or the future. On earth, or to a different planet? Anywhere you want to go, we will go. So where to?"
I shrug and follow him into the control room where I passed out. "A different planet." I say.
The doctor nods, smirking, and presses a few buttons and pulls a lever. Immediately, a wheezing, groaning noise emits from the tardis. When the noise stops, the doctor motions for me to open the door. "After you, Emily." He says in a funny voice. I laugh, and go towards the door .
Opening them, I take a shaky breath and step outside. Staring in awe, I wait for the doctor to come to. Once we are both out, he grabs my shoulders. "Welcome to the planet of the Ood."
It is a snowy terrain, with gorgeous mountains in front of a pink and orange sky. The sky is just like a sunset, just closer up then earth.
The whole thing is completely mesmerizing, and I swear my breath is taken away. Like, literally. I can't breath.
Gasping for air, I grab for my inhaler. After taking it, I wait for myself to calm down. After my breathing is stable, I cling to the doctors hand and let him lead me into the depths of a new planet, in a new solar system; one so far away from the home I know, and yet, close at the same time.
----------
As we start to walk, I see something in the distance. From far away, it looks like a human. I look at the doctor curiously as we walk towards the human - shaped shadow.
"Doctor, what is an Ood ?" I ask unsurely.
"You will see, little Emily." He smiles as I grasp his hand tighter. As we get closer, I start noticing that the human is in fact not a human. It has glowing cat eyes embedded into its egg shaped head. The head then molds into these tentacles that hang just to its shoulders. The body looks just like a humans; however, it's holding a glass foggy ball that is attached to a string connected to the tentacles.
"That is an Ood." The doctor says to me.
"Hello. I am an Ood. I take it that this is your first time here?" As it pronounces each word, the ball in its hand glows brightly, as if it communicates through the ball. Then again, i think it does communicate through the ball; it doesn't have a mouth. I nod, wide eyed, and look at the doctor. He is grinning like an idiot.
"Well, now, aren't you going to take us on a tour?" The doctor asks the Ood.
"No." The Ood replies. The doctor looks taken aback.
"No? What do you mean, no ? I order you to take us on the tour! Oi! You like orders, don't give me that look!" He says, agitated.
"I cannot give you a tour. This planet has been taken over and is being controlled. Anyone who comes here is going to die a torturous death. May I take your coat?" The Ood is starting to freak me out now.
"Taken over by who?" The doctor asks.
"The angels and the silence have teamed up. They are taking planets for there own use. The Ood's planet was easy for them, because we were seeking orders. They gave us orders. We are there slaves. Now, may I take your coat?"
The doctor grabs my hand and runs into the tardis. We lock the door, and he explains.
"We can't leave, the tardis is stuck. Now, the angels are statues, and they don't move when you look at them. Look away, they kill you. Don't even blink when you see one. The silence won't kill you immediately. They will try, and when you turn to run, you will forget them, and everything about them. Here is a marker. Whenever you see them, draw a tally on your arm or face. That way, you will know they are near after you forget them. I will protect you, I promise, and help is on the way. We can't stay here, though, they will come for us. We have to get out of the tardis." He gives me a hug. "It will be okay." He tells me.
I take my inhaler, then out of the tardis we go once more.
