Still with all the electricity out, the tardis is more forlorn inside then ever. Carl and I sit patiently on a couch that we dragged from the living room that we discovered in the tardis into the control room. A countdown ticks on the digital clock on the panel of buttons and switches, and we have 23 hours remaining before we could land again.
Since we have nothing to do, Carl and I begin to talk wearily. "So, what was your life like before you met me? Why was everyone so afraid of you?" I ask Carl inquisitively. He looks at me with trusting eyes. "You would have to hear about my entire backstory to understand. I will tell you, though it's not something I like to talk about." Carl swallows noisily after saying it. I shake my head. "You don't have to tell me," I whisper, not wanting to bring up uncomfortable memories from his past.
He swallows. "No, you should know." He says, and begins the story. " When I was 9, my father died in the army, a noble death. My mum, she and my sister were so depressed that they prepared to move to a different part of the world, possibly America. My mum one day was extremely screwed up, and she got high. And then-... Then she died from overdose the next night. My sister ran away and the cops came to take me from school, where I was, to put me in a foster home alone. I fought the cops, and said that whats mine stays mine, and I... well, they were seriously injured. One died. The others didn't dare come after me again, and everyone left me alone. So in school, we had this code. Whenever I came near, whenever I said "mine" everyone, including adults, they would all back off." Carl bites his lip and looks at the wall opposite of me, his eyes watering up."When everyone messed with you in school, I just couldn't let it go. So I 'claimed you' in a way. Said you were mine so they would leave you alone."
I look at him with big eyes and smile. "Well, I guess it worked. I mean, we are alone, together, and no ones messing with me." He smiles back. We look into each other's eyes... and I'm starting to get tired. Extremely weary all of the sudden, I lay my head on his lap and begin to drift off. Looking up, I notice that he already fell asleep, his head on his shoulder.
Something's wrong. How could we both feel a sudden exhaustion at the same time? It's like something wants us to sleep. I fight it, trying to stay awake as best as I could. My eyelids drooping, I get up to go to the control keyboard. My knees give out from underneath me and I grasp the railing lining the room, trying to pull myself up. I drag myself to the button that calls the doctor and press it with all the strength I have left.
I now fall to the floor, my sweaty hands no longer able to hold on to the railing. The doctor's holograph appears, and his eyes widen. "Emily, what's wrong?!" Unable to fight anymore, I let my head drop to the cold floor. "I can't fight it doctor, I'm sorry." I whisper hoarsely, as my eyes begin to close. I hear him screaming for me to stay awake desperately, but the sleep is overwhelmingly strong. I fade into unconsciousness.

Feeling as though merely a second has passed, I wake up, and Carl slowly does the same. We are in the woods where he he first saw me, in the meadow. Then I realize that this means we're in the other world, the one with the evil family. This is the meadow when the doctor came to save us from the devilish parallel universe.
Carl grabs my hand and I begin to hyperventilate. Suddenly, I see Amy running towards me from afar. She gets closer, and a murderous look is in her eyes. "You ran away! Disappeared off the face of the planet! You guys are in a deep amount of trouble!" She points towards where the house of terror is, the house where she, the evil doctor, and River kept me and Carl.
With our heads hung low, we walk onwards in the direction of the house with her at our heels. Apparently, we are trapped in the parallel universe once more with the evilest family of all. I leave my lucky necklace there so the doctor knows that I'm here, and walk once more towards the house. Luckily, the evil Amy was too distracted to notice my pause in walking. As we continue journeying through the woods, I ponder on how the hell I ended up back here. When I fell asleep against my will, it must have brought me back to his world. Technically, right now I'm dreaming in the real world. The question is, how do I get back?
