Sal's P.O.V
I pace back and forth in my thoughts clutching a pillow tightly to my chest as I walk trying to figure out how I was going to get Larry to come with me to pick the lock, I had lied to him about going to see a girl he'll feel so betrayed if I tell him the truth. Though now that I think about it, I didn't technically lie at all. I did go to see a girl, just not a living one. I groan and throw my pillow across the room onto my bed, a knock rings out from my door causing me to turn. With a quiet click the door opens and my dad steps inside quickly noticing my stressed expression. "Hey, I can hear you pacing around Sal. Is something wrong son?" I look away awkwardly rubbing my arm lightly letting out a heavy sigh, he walks over to my bed sitting down on the edge of it patting the spot next to him signaling for me to come to sit with him. I turn my gaze back slightly then walk over to the bed sitting down next to him, he moves his arm over wrapping around my shoulders.
"What's up, anything I can help with?" I shake my head slightly dismissing that thought, my dad didn't need to know about any of the happenings here at the apartment building or in the forest nearby. He rubs my shoulder trying to comfort me, I slowly look over to him leaning away a bit. "There isn't really much you can do about it dad but... If you did something your friend told you not to do and you need them to do something badly to do with that thing, what would you say to that friend?" He looks at me quizzically then lifts his hand up to his face scratching his beard, he remains in his thoughts silently as I watch him sit there blankly. "I'd say you talk to them and explain why you need them, if it's something that really means a lot to you and doesn't cause you harm than I am sure they'll come around." I turn to my walkie-talkie then sigh getting up off my bed grabbing my backpack, he stands up from the bed letting out a slight groan cause of the movement.
"Thank you for the advice dad... I think I will use it, I got to go now bye!" I sling my backpack over my shoulder and run out of my room leaving my dad standing there silently, I make my way to the elevator pressing the button fidgeting with my fingers. The ride down to Larry's floor seemingly took forever, as if time slowed down just to make me reflect on my thoughts and actions. Once I exit the elevator I walk to Larry's apartment heading inside, I see Lisa in the kitchen, so I wave hello to her. Looking up from the stove she is currently repairing she waves back to me before returning to work, I enter Larry's room to see him at his easel painting. "Hey dude, what's up? Have fun with your girlfriend?" My ears tinge slightly red at his comment, I know he meant well but his comments were really killing me inside. "Uh... I need to talk to you about that, this girl you see... She's not exactly.... alive"
He sits silently slowly putting down his paint brush to look at me, his stare burns holes right through my body. I begin to sweat nervously afraid for the reaction I was going to get when I tell him where this ghost is, or maybe he already knows exactly where she is. "You went back to that shed didn't you, you're asking to get yourself killed! You don't know if this ghost is evil or not, what if she's plotting to kill you." I open my backpack pulling out my super gear boy holding it up in front of him staring into his eyes seriously, I turn towards the stairs and begin walking towards them. He quickly gets up from his stool being careful not to knock over his easel and follows behind me, I hold my backpack over my arm and step up the stairs opening the back door looking to him. "I'll prove she's not like that, if you met her you'd know" I step outside and begin walking towards the lake, I hear a loud groan behind me as I continue deeper into the forest.
After a few seconds he comes dashing out of his room following behind me pulling his hood over his head, flashing a smile at him I continue with him to the lake. "I don't trust this, I don't think this is a good idea, but I am not letting you come back out here again by yourself. Not with all those creepy cult fuckers" He shudders thinking about them, we proceed to the shed stepping over the large branch. The bundles of sticks under my feet crunching slightly as I walk, turning I proceed around the building holding up my super gear boy. I turn to Larry signaling for him to hide, he steps back a bit hiding among the branches alongside of the shed. My thumb hovers over the button quietly for a few moments before I push it, after a few moment's nothing happens. The small opening remains empty other than me and Larry, I look at my super gear boy confused hitting it lightly trying to get it to work.
