Remus' POV

November 1975

It was a clear Saturday morning despite the cold autumn weather. Holly was sitting in the common room with a picnic basket she had the house elves prepared for her, waiting for me. She did her hair in a pair of fish braids, and she was reading one of my most favourite muggle novel, The Chronicles of Narnia. It had been quite a while since the surprise they gave me. And I was still shaken that she also took the chance to risk her life for me.

"John," She closed her book and looked at me with her sparkly hazel green eyes.

"Ready?" I asked.

"More than ready," She smiled as she took the picnic basket.

"Let me carry that," I said as I took the basket from her.

"Dating my sister, Remy?" Here comes Lily sitting at one of the tables in the common room with books around her.

"LILY, SHUT IT," Holly shouted as she puffed her cheeks and blushed crimson.

"Well, I'll call it one if she allows me to," I decided to come along and tease her.

"Now, if you'll excuse us, I would like a quiet picnic before it turned into a disastrous boys hangout party," Holly said as she pulled my arm.

We went out of the common room and walked through the hills to the Black Lake. It was considered as quite a long walk, but when she held my arm, it didn't really feel that long. Even when there was silence engulfing us. She held my arm and stared at me most of the walk to the Black Lake.

'How can he be so good looking despite those scratches,' she was saying that out loud again... in her thoughts.

"I heard you, remember?" I teased her, earning a blush on her cheeks.

"Do you or Do you not have the mercy not to tease me?" She said as she blushed madly. She looked so cute when she was flustered.

"I am a marauder, I don't have the mercy not to tease anyone, even if she was the one I loved really dearly," I grinned widely.

"Come again?" She looked at me with her sparkly eyes.

'I shouldn't have said that,'  I said in my thoughts.

"Said what?" She teased me back.

"That I love you so much," I mumbled.

'So do I' she blushed.

"Why you shouldn't have said that?" she asked.

"It might cost us our relationship and most of it, you," I said, protectively hugging her waist.

"I am too stupid to ever think of leaving you, John. I do have feelings I concealed. I just waited for the right time to do it. I mean I wanted to see Lily happy first then I'll be happy to have my happiness." She said as she leaned into my chest. "Lily has suffered so much all this time. She doesn't have anyone to run to. Me? I have you, I have the marauders, the Potters, but Lily only had Marlene and I. Please wait a little longer for us, John. I wanna see Lily smiling like when we were little."

She wanted her twin sister to be happy before she got hers. She felt bad because she had us and Lily only had her and Marlene. I should have known that. The heart she had was the heart I've always admired all this time.

"Can you wait?" She asked.

"I'll give you as much time we can have," I smiled. "So, before the night crawls in, let's got to the lake," I said, pulling her hand gently to run to the lake.

'I do love you too, John,' She mentally told me.

'I'll do whatever it takes, Prim,' I replied.

We spent quite some time by the lake, discussing our favourite muggle fictions and talking until the night fills in. By that time, a flask of Pumpkin juice had been emptied, as well as a tray of pumpkin pasties and fruit pies.

"Lumos," She lit up her wand and ran her soft hand through my face. "You went through a whole lot, without me. I'm sorry," She said as she looked down to her lap.

"It wasn't your fault, Prim," I took her hand and held it in mine.

"But you went through those tremendous pain alone," She cried.

"Hey, don't cry. It's none of your faults," I said as I hugged her. "Now that you are here, you are a cute fluffy dog, I'm not so alone," I said, wiping away her tears. "Look at me," I said, looking into her eyes. "I have everyone. Padfoot, Prongs, Wormtail, you, Lily. I am never alone," I said as I leaned in and kissed her lips. It was longer than 10 seconds. But much more love in it. She kept smiling in between our kiss.

James' POV

"They were SNOGGING," I whisper yelled to Sirius' ears as we hid behind a bark of Yam tree by the lake.

"It's their third time snogging anyways," Lily whispered as she knocked my head.

"How did you know?" Sirius asked.

"The same way I knew you were into Marlene McKinnon, Black," She said and shot an 'as a matter of fact' look to Sirius.

"Can you two shut up now," I said as I watched Remus and Holly kissing.

"W-Why didn't they d-date already? We wouldn't object anyways," Peter stuttered.

"She wants you to get your happiness first before her, Evans. She didn't want to have happiness all by herself. She wants you to have it before you," I whispered to Lily.

"You are not joking, right?"  Lily asked.

"That's what I heard when I walked passed them on the way they got here," I said.

"You're doing too much eavesdropping, Potter," She said, smacking my head.

"OW!" I shouted, blowing up our covers.

"James," Holly shouted. "Come out, I know you are eavesdropping us," She said.

"It's Potter's idea," Lily said. "I was dragged." She whined.

"Thanks for watching, this has been the daily prophet telly," Holly snarked.

"Holly Primrose Evans," Lily ran to hug her sister and cry for once more.

"Lily, what happened? did James or Sirius did something to you?" Holly asked.

"We didn't!" Sirius and I said in unison.

"Thank you for thinking of me," Lily cried.

"That's my job, little sister." She grinned.

"I'm only twelve minutes younger than you," Lily pouted. "But why did you put me before all your happiness?" She asked.

"I already am, Lils. Now it's your turn," She smiled and pointed at everyone before pushing Lily to me.

"Well, for now, I am not really interested in dating. Maybe, if someone here can change and stop hexing people for fun, I'll try getting ready to have a relationship," Lily said as she stumbled because she was quite unready for a push.

"You hear her, James. get some balls and be THE MAN," Holly said as I caught the stumbling Lily.
