There lives a girl named Amelia who lives in a cottage in the depths of the forest.

“Amelia where are you? I thought I told you to clean up this mess on the floor” Amelia heard the distant call of her mother but as many 14 year olds she decided not to respond to her mother's call.

“Amelia what are you doing down there I told you to stay in the den where I could see you.” Amelia shrugged.

“Mom, I'm just reading up on something about (insert book/subject here).”

“Amelia where did you get that book from?” asked her mother.

“As if you'd care. Your the one who banned me from reading these stuff” she said rudely.

“How dear you speak to me like this. You’re grounded until the you learn some manners” her mother said sternly.

“Well mother, can you not see that I’m bound to stay in this place” said Amelia.

“Watch your mouth young lady go to your room and stay there for the rest of the day.”

“OK whatever.” “Make that until the rest of the weekend also.” Amelia walked up to her room.

Meanwhile Alex a 15 year old boy was wondering through the forest, he then stumbles upon Amelia’s cottage. He then climbs a tree and looked into his binoculars, he sees a girl  sitting on a small bed. Amelia gets a feeling that someone is watching her, so she slowly turns around and sees Alex up in a tree in the near distance. Alex jumps down the tree realizing  that he was spotted and headed out of the forest. He never guessed that anyone had lived out there and decided to come back tomorrow.

A new day has begun. “I wonder, who was that boy outside my window yesterday” Amelia thought.

“Mother! I'm hungry I need to eat you can't keep me up here for the whole weekend without food.” “Amelia sweetie who am I?  I'm your mother, I make the rules around here. No food on until you change that attitude of yours.”

“Mother I've had enough of your stupid rules.” “Don't make me kick you out.”

“As if you would really do that!” Amelia shouted while standing through her bedroom doorway.  “Close that door of yours and go reflect on what you just said and you're still not getting any food.”Amelia slammed the door  and returned to her bed.

Meanwhile Alex was wandering through the forest trying to find the cottage. He saw the tip of a chimney in the distance, and he raced towards it. Amelia heard footsteps beneath her bedroom window and she looked out only to see the boy from yesterday.

“What are you doing!?”Amelia shouted. Alex jumped “Hey don't scare me like that”

“Last time I checked you were the one creeping around, or should I say below my bedroom window” Amelia called down. “By the way are you stalking me?”

“Me stalk you? No, I just never saw this part of the forest before so I'm just a bit curious.”

“But didn't curiosity kill the cat” said Amelia “That's where you're wrong satisfaction brought it back” replied Alex.

“Amelia you better be reflecting on what you said earlier.” her mom said from downstairs.

“Who's that woman speaking to you there?” the boy asked her.

“Why would you care? She's my mother, anyways who are you?” Amelia asked the boy.

“The names Alex, you are?” “I’m Amelia, nice to meet you Alex.” “Same here”

“Amelia who are you talking to up there?” her mother asked.

“Um no one mom just the trees” Amelia replied. “Whatever you say” her mom replied seem uninterested in what her daughter was ding in her room.

“Stop standing down there and come up Alex” he climbed up the tree and sat on a branch near the ledge of her window.

“Hey you look hungry have you eaten anything yet?” Alex asked  kindly.

“Nope” Amelia replied bluntly.

“Here it's nothing much but it should keep you going for the rest of the evening.” He had her two bars of chocolate and a granola bar. “Thanks” said Amelia.

“Why haven't you eaten?” he asked her as she began eating the last chocolate bar

“I'm grounded and no food for the rest of the the weekend”she replied.

“Have you ever been out of this house?” asked Alex. “Well duh I just can't leave the path that leads out of the forest.”

“How long have you lived here?” “Umm… for about 13 years now.”

“That's a long time without civilization” Alex pointed out.

“Well it's sort of nice here.” “If you say so.”

“Darling I'm coming up” said her mom as she climbed the stairs. Alex climbed down the tree and yelled  up to Amelia “I'll be back tomorrow with food for you I promise!!”

“Ok I'll be here, not as if I have anywhere to go.” Just then her mom came into here room. “Honey you seem to be taking this punishment very well” said her mom. “Well yeah because I had someone to talk to for a change” mumbled Amelia.

“What was that?” “Nothing” “Don't nothing me. I know you're hiding something”

“Mind your own business  Mother.” “You know I was going to shorten your grounding but never mind.”

Nightfall came and Amelia gazed at the stars hoping that Alex would keep his promise and return tomorrow especially with more chocolate. Amelia realized the she could not fall asleep so she went into the cabinet in her room and pulled out a watercolour pad and painted for the rest of the night to pass time. (Where did she get this watercolour pad and the book she was reading earlier? Well her mother bought them a long time ago but then banned her from using them).

A new day has begun and Amelia is looking out of her window waiting for Alex. “I knew it put your trust in someone do something and…” “And what? You thought I wouldn’t have come, Ye of little faith.”

“No...I was just...hmm fine you got me but what else was i supposed to think we just formally met yesterday. By the way did you bring more chocolate?”

“Yes I brought more chocolate and a Meat Lovers Pizza and a Vegetarian Pizza( don’t judge me i was hungry when i wrote this) I wasn’t sure if you eat meat so therefore I bought the Veggie Pizza.”

“Right now I’ll eat anything” Amelia grabbed of slice of both pizzas and stuffed her them into her mouth. Alex gazed at her in awe. “What?” Amelia asked with her mouth filled with pizza.

“Oh nothing. It’s just how you’re eating, but I guess that’s expected since you haven’t eaten.”

Amelia had finished about half in both pizzas. “Hey Amelia, I have an idea let me take you out into the city.”

“Great idea, I need to get out of this damn house anyways.”

“What! Really? What about your mother?” “Oh she would not be coming up here for the rest of the day.”

Amelia climbed out of her bedroom window and climbed down the tree. Amelia and Alex set out of the forest.
