The room was quiet. That's when the officer came in with an announcement for them all,
" Alright listen up everyone, we are going to call them one more time. That's it. We can't keep giving them what they want. This will be the final phone call."
Ricky interrupted, " What do you mean final phone call? Then how are we going to get Bella back?! She's still out there with them! We don't know where they are and why they have her! "
Michael cringed listening to this. His best friend had a point. Bella is still with her kidnappers and any cop knows the statistics of how long child victims are usually kept alive for, usually no more than 24 hours.
Michael was thinking about doing something he'd never normally do, offer a piece of himself up. Plead in ways he's never pleaded before. Maybe even apologize for what he's done wrong. Just to save the life of his little sister.
Officers agreed. If Tori and Zig felt like they could understand Michael, then maybe they'd sympathize with him as an older sibling and let Bella go.
Officers wrote a script for Michael to say during this last call. " Look kid, you're going to have to sell this. Let them know what you're feeling and make it believable or else we may never know what they'll do to your sister. " the officer instructed as Michael was reviewing the notepad.
" Here goes nothing.. "
Dialing the number, Michael picked up his phone and signaled the officers to start taping the call. He waited until he heard the other line pick up. Taking a deep breath, he didn't even wait for whoever was on the other line to speak.
" Look. My sister didn't do anything to you freaks, so let her go! " Michael blurted, suddenly forgetting the script that the officer gave to him.
The officer swatted Michael, " you're not going to get them to talk by insulting them! "
Michael rolled his eyes and lowered his voice.
" it's me you want right? I'll come meet you guys wherever you want if you let my baby sister go. Alright? I promise. You can do whatever the hell you want to me, I don't care. Just let Bella go... Please.. "
Everybody in the room became silent, nobody expected Michael to plead like that or say something so thoughtful in order to help someone other than himself. Even Michael himself was shocked.
Tori's POV:
Neither Tori, nor Zig ever expected to hear the great Michael Tipton beg for something. The boy who HAD everything and knew he ran the world was pleading with them.
Was this really Michael?
After shaking off the surprise of what he said, Tori spoke,
" is that so? You would really meet with us in exchange for your dear little sister to be safe?"
Tori asked in a fake sweet voice.
Michael sighed, " Yes, I would. She has nothing to do with whatever you have against me.. Now say yes you freak! "
Tori chucked, " See, I knew that fake concerned big brother ploy was all an act. You don't REALLY care for your baby sister. "
Before Michael could answer, Tori continued, " but don't worry.. we'll take good care of her. After all, we're probably more like her big brother and sister than you ever were."
Michael sighed, he knew agreeing with someone is usually the quickest way to get them to trust you. And he had to get Tori to trust him to stay on the phone and tell him what he needed.
" That's probably true because I've never been nice to her. I know you guys had a little sister Bella's age. Just think about how you'd be if someone took her. " Michael explained.
Tori stayed silent for a few moments.
" She WAS taken from us. But this is nothing like the way we lost Sky. Goodbye Michael Tipton. "
By that time the 60 second marker needed to trace a phone call was completed. By getting Tori to stay on the line, their location with Bella was revealed.
Michael spoke smoothly, " I guess you're right. See you in a bit. " before hanging up the call.
END NOTE: PS, Sky is going to be the name of Tori and Zig's dead baby sister.
