Michael's POV: Michael was thinking back to just a few months ago. His mother had called to let him know that she wouldn't be home that night, so that she could work overtime. He had the task of looking after his little sister. He was originally planning on just locking her in her room but that didn't happen. As Michael sat in the living room scrolling through his phone, he heard the sounds of small footsteps coming toward him. He briefly looked up to see his little sister who asked, " whewre's mama?? " " not here, " he mumbled in response. She waddled closer to the couch and laid her head close to where he was laying . " I'm hungwy " the little girl told him. He sighed, and got up to go dig in the freezer, where he found a Smuckers peanut butter and jelly sandwich before throwing it at her. After nibbling the sandwich like a little squirrel, she ran out of the room to go fetch her favorite fuzzy blanket and jumped on the couch, deciding to lay down with her big brother as he watched tv. He looked at her weirdly but still let her lay with him. She pulled the blanket over him too and cuddled into his chest before falling asleep. He remembered during that moment, he felt a little warmth in his heart.
No ones POV: Everyone could tell that Michael was deep in thought by the way he stood quietly, but no one dare disturb him. This was a first, him actually thinking about someone that wasn't himself. His best friend Ricky had no idea how to respond to this. He patted his friends shoulder who suddenly snapped out of it, " hey man.. It'll be ok. " Ricky awkwardly said to Michael, who looked away, totally ignoring his friends comforting gesture and mumbled, " I'm going to get those freaks even if it's the last thing I do.. " Everyone in the room seemed to understand this.
Zig's POV: It's only been a few hours and Zig could tell that this needs to come to an end, the police have their phone numbers so it's only a matter of time before they get tracked down! NOTE: ( According to some website I found 60 seconds is needed before a trace can be complete) He figured he may as well try to talk some sense into his sister. " Tori, what are we going to do?? They know it's us and this has gone on way too long! " Tori smirked, despite her brother having a point, the cave they were in would be hard for most people to notice. It seemed to blend in with the surrounding area. Of course to them it stood out, because when you're a couple of kids running from an alcoholic mother you sometimes find good hiding places. Zig and Tori discovered the place they were hiding with Bella a few months ago, during one of their mother's alcohol fueled rages that led to her kicking them out of the house on a cold night. This cave was behind a playground and near a small river where hikers like to take their dogs. Tori was sure nobody would ever be able to find it. What she didn't know was that there was a tip called in to police, that kids backpacks were seen abandoned in a playground. They were at risk of being discovered.
