Chapter 22: The end of it all

Note - I never really came up with an ending when I wrote this over 8 years ago when I was sitting in class, bored as a seventh grade girl could be while the class was reading Esperanza Rising. So I'm trying to make this ending be something that I would've approved back then.

No one's POV:
*At home*
As Michael was getting his little sister ready for bed, he had something on his mind, " why did you stop talking with them? " he suddenly asked.
" they kept stawre at me. " the little girl said in a quiet voice. Her brother pulled her on his lap to try to make her fall asleep ( which didn't work )
She turned herself in his arms to look up at him, " awre they going to come back? " she asked in a trembling voice.
" no, " he told her before hugging her. " they're never going to come back. "
He stayed awake before placing her in his bed while she slept. Thankfully by the time they got home she was already worn out, but she also struggled with being worried which often kept her up. This shouldn't be something a 4 year old has to worry about, Michael thought.
Michael has rethought a lot since the incident with the twins, the kidnapping of his sister. He decided that seeing Zig & Tori again would be a waste of time, and it would only be putting Bella through more trauma. That is the last thing he wants for her.
He knows his little sister probably won't make sense of it until she's much older. She will always live with the physical and mental scars of what has happened, but he will always be the one to help her through it. He opened up the scrapbook the officer gave him, with pictures they printed of the two siblings as a memory. He lightly smiled, going through the pictures. He then decided to write something to Bella for the future.

" I love you baby sister. Please remember I will always be here for you no matter what. Love, your handsome big brother. "

Classic Michael.
The end.

" Sisters and brothers just happen, we don't get to choose them, but they become one of our most cherished relationships. " – Wes Adamson

End note: I decided to finally finish this story on a special day. Today, June 26th, marks what would've been Michael's 21st birthday. He was one of the only real characters that actually exist. He and Ricky were both kids I knew.
I wrote this story in 2011 at the age of 12 while in the middle of class, so I know I didn't make it the most accurate.
I don't know why I never gave it an ending which is why the ending of this seems so random, because I really don't know how I would've ended it back then. Thank you everyone so much for reading this book, it truly means the world!! I have so many other stories of Michael and Bella that I haven't published that I'm thinking about putting up!
Rest in peace to the real Michael.
