Everyone left the clock tower hours later. Clara laid her uninjured arm over her eyes, crying. She wanted to go home. She couldn't even remember what her mother's face looked like off hand.
"Clara..?" Julius entered the room with two cups of coffee. He handed her one mug while he took a seat on the bed. She stared down at the cup in dismay. Julius noticed the sadness in her eyes and asked her what was wrong.
"My home.." Clara sobbed through her hands. "Will I ever be able to see it again?" Julius looked at her trough his dark eyes. She looked broken inside.
"I honestly don't know how that feels, but I promise you this.." Julius leaned inward toward her ear. "You will find a way back." The sentence made a chill run up and down Clara's spine.
Julius excused himself from her side. He walked out of the clock tower, heading over to the castle of hearts. The large, heart-shaped doors opened immediately as he walked closer. His first thought was that he was expected..
..Or perhaps the doors were afraid of him as well.
"Ah, clockmaker." Vivaldi greeted Julius. He glared at the white rabbit that walked respectfully behind her. Peter cringed at the sight of him.
"I came to discuss the ball." Julius got straight to the point. "I'd wish to postpone the ball at least five more time phases."
"Is this because of the injury dear Clara obtained at the Hatter's Mansion?" She shot a deadly glare at Peter who was now running away to, as he says, 'attend to other matters'.
"Yes." He bluntly replied. Vivaldi sighed, but agreed. He then, after bidding her majesty goodbye, made his way to the Hatter's Mansion. He hoped to search through the extensive science and theory books. Elliot let him enter after he explained his predicament. Julius looked around the dusty room, coughing slightly from the air.
"I have my work cut out for me..." He whispered to himself. Clara woke up hours later, even though it was still dark out. She cringed as she sat up in bed, but she didn't want to lie around all time period like a lazy piece of cheese. She checked her phone once more to find even more messages about her disappearance.
Clara, please, answer this text... Carly texted last week.
CLARA!!! U BETTER BE ALIVE!!! BC WE MISS U AND ......and, please... Heather yelled at her. Clara couldn't help but smile sadly. People did miss her. She stared up at the ceiling once more, wondering what was happening at home.
"I wonder if the new season of Doctor Who is out yet.." Clara wondered aloud. "I wonder what happened to L in Death Note. I wonder what's happening. War? Famine? Prosperous?" She then began thinking about all those theories of parallel worlds. What if this is it? Wonderland, kinda like all those stories of Alice in Wonderland Clara had read many times over. Or she could be just crazy. Clara let out a soft chuckle at the thought of waking up from this long dream to the next morning. But she was way past thinking of it as a dream.
Julius had searched through most of the science books to find nothing. He sighed, picking up a dark, navy blue bound book. He flipped to a random page and stopped to notice a picture of two geographical maps overlapping. The words over it read:
PARALLEL WORLDS.
Julius read onward, interested by the topic.
"I see you've found an interest in science." Blood stepped next to him from out of nowhere. Julius kept reading, not paying attention to the other man. "Is it because of Clara?.....she wants to go home, doesn't she...?" Blood stared down at the floorboards, taking in its rich color.
"I believe that this parallel theory may help her get home." Julius briefly replied before closing the book, picking up a few more, then exiting the room.
"She has to leave by her own means." Blood reminded him. Julius sat down at an empty table and took out extra sheets of blank paper, scribbling notes furiously on them. A couple hours went by like this. Blood joined in on the plan later as they both discussed possible ways to travel between these worlds freely. Both of them were, of course, in love with Clara, but they wanted her to be happy more than anything...
...Even if it meant letting her go.
Julius silently entered the clock tower as the sun shined brightly in the weird afternoon sky. He yawned, walking up the stairs to his study. Upon opening the doors, he saw Ace sitting at a table, laughing at something. A minute passed before Ace realized that Julius returned to his study. He gave a small wave to him, only earning a eye roll from the antisocial clockmaker.
"Who is it Ace?" Clara called from the kitchen, walking out a few minutes later with two cups of coffee. She gave a warm smile to Julius which made his heart flutter. She was dressed in long, bootcut jeans with a white shirt that had a cartoonish man crouching on the front. He was holding a black notebook awkwardly with a monster behind him looking over his shoulder. The shirt said:
SHINIGAMI DONT EXIST.
Julius dismissed the weird shirt and returned to his desk, continuing his work on the impossible clock.

That's right. I just made a Death Note and Doctor Who reference. Speaking of Death Note, I am starting a fanfic on that and already have the first part done. It is gonna be called, There's No "L" in Murder. If I get at least five votes on this chapter by the end of the week, I'll let you read the first part. Deal?
