Something inside blood snapped. But it was a good kind of snap. The young girl in front of him had embraced him even though he caused her harm. All the pain, loss, and hatred seemed to vanish. The houses burned beyond compare, and he horrid smell of death in the air. He simply held Clara closer to drive out the memories. She seemed softer, like no one he's ever held before. Yes, there was no doubt, to Blood, she was very different from Alice.
"I have a favor to ask you.." she whispered softly into his ear. And Blood couldn't help but smile at her ingenious plan.
Clara, exiting the mansion with a large bag, made her way down the long road to the castle of hearts. She groaned internally at the thought of the perverted White Rabbit, but knew the plan wouldn't work without him. She pulled one of the blood red roses from the bag, and held it up to the sun. She had only five more time periods to finish the plan before the ball, then she would reveal her secret. All the thought made Clara's wound ache, and she didn't like the dull feeling of the pain.
"My precious Clara!!" Peter jumped into the air, trying to glomp the small girl, but Clara moved at the last minute, making the rabbit man fall onto his face.
"And what brings such a delicate, white Rose to my castle?" Vivaldi smiled happily, stepping down the staircase. She smiled back, and held up the bag.
"I bring presents." She replied, pulling out a bouquet of roses for Peter and a beautiful piece of music especially written for the Queen. they said their many thanks and she explained what she needed.
"I-uh, need it for a project when I get back to my world!" Clara quickly tried to cover up the real reason. Both nodded, and Vivaldi ordered Peter to get the objects.
"Let's talk." Vivaldi smiled happily at Clara. She smiled back, filling Vivaldi with a happiness she had never experienced before. They walked through the labyrinth that was her castle.
"I heard of your injury." She continued, eyeing the cast sadly. Clara simply shrugged.
"I don't mind. If anything it was more my fault than anyone else's." She truthfully replied. "I tried to stop the guys from hurting each other."
"And, is there anyone in this world that you would want to protect? Maybe even miss if you went back to your world?" Vivaldi asked cautiously. She couldn't bare to explain everything to such an innocent girl.
"I honestly love everyone." She answered. "They've always been by my side, no matter what. Sure, I'll miss you all when I go back, but I'll always remember you." Clara turned to the Queen, setting her index finger over her heart. "In here."
Vivaldi couldn't help but stare at Clara. She was right. Clara helped open her eyes. As they want on, Clara talked more about her world; the crime, the death. But she didn't leave out the wonderful things about the world, like friendship, calm days in the middle of a blossoming meadow, even secret caves next to the ocean. The reflection of light blue on the dark, damp, cold walls and ground. Vivaldi was astounded by the detail Clara had given her. Perhaps, if the rules allowed it, she could go see this world.
"Come soon for a tea party soon!" Peter called after her as she waved goodbye, heading back to the clock tower. She needed to see Julius after a long day. She had walked the path to the clock tower countless times now, but that day, it seemed longer than usual. It was as if the path itself loved to see her, at a moderate pace, walk down the gravel and dirt road; humming the tune of any song that came to mind.
"Heyo!" She called out.
"Hello." Julius appeared from the kitchen, holding a brewed cup of coffee in his hand. He smiled at her, and she smiled back. Julius could look at her smile all day, and never get tired. How could he explain these feelings? Clara retired to her bedroom, and he sighed once more. Maybe Nightmare could explain to Clara,
..The rules all must follow in this country.
Clara slipped on a pair of sweat pants and a T-shirt before falling into a deep sleep.
She once again found herself in the pit of grey and black nothingness.
"Seems you've taken a liking to the country?" nightmare appeared behind Clara and set his hands on her shoulders. She jumped and turned around quickly, her eyes directly in front of Nightmare's.
"Don't scare me like that!" She pouted, puffing up her cheeks. "and yes, this country is pretty cool."
"Glad you li-" Nightmare was cut off by a pool of blood spurting out of his mouth and into the abyss below. Clara jumped back, but soon hurried closer, patting the man's back slowly as he coughed up more red liquid.
"What was that about?" she asked. "I thought you were a demon?"
"I am," he wiped his mouth with his sleeve. "Just,.. a sick one."
"That sucks."
"Tell me about it." They began walking through the nothingness, talking about different things. Mostly about how humans in Clara's world see demons.
"..So basically, some demons are seen as pretty cool, like Sebastian. And some are seen as assholes, like Lilith." Clara finished, throwing her hands into the air to make an invisible rainbow.
"Wow, how do you remember that many shows?" Nightmare asked curiously.
"For me, I have a 54 gigabyte memory when it comes to anime and other shows. I have only used 23 gigabytes so far." Clara laughed.
"That may change, like a pathway over millions of years." Nightmare looked up, beginning to fade along with the abyss as sunlight wormed its way in somehow. "Because in this world, the road is much longer than it seems."
Clara sat up, looking at the sun as it slunk slowly up towards the sky. And she kept in mind what Nightmare had said.
