A silent man watched from a window, and the balcony, and even in the shadows.
"Well well! Looks like the princess finally is letting her guard down!~" he giggled creepily. Watching her, the man found himself in a trance. The way her moves showed her true self, it was like a drug to the man, and he hadn't even truly met the woman.

"Sir, it's impossible to even infiltrate the party with so many gaurds in every place." A young boy pulled on the man's cloak.

"Soon, they won't even be able to stop me." The man replied.

"Nightmare?!?!" Clara squealed in disbelief as Nightmare walked into the ball room with some of his men. Nightmare's eyes shined as bright as it did in her dreams.

"Hey Clara." He smirked at his informal greeting. Clara's first action was to hug the man to make sure he wasn't a figment of her imagination. She them stared up at him happily, and Nightmare stared back. Suddenly, Clara's iPod began playing her most favorite song, and she couldn't help but squeal as she pulled Nightmare, Boris, Dee and Dum, Eliot, and Peter onto the dance floor. The man who was standing next to Nightmare was about to pry him from the girl's hands when Nightmare stopped him.

"Don't worry Grey, this will only take a second. Give the outsider a chance to have fun." Nightmare chuckled at his protector. Boris listened close to the song, then shrugged his shoulders as he took Clara's hands in his own.
"Seems Legit!!" He laughed as the two began to dance at the same pace.

I'm waking up to ash and dust. I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust. I'm breathing in, the chemicals.

Clara pretended to gasp in the 'chemicals' as Boris laughed and danced in his own way.

I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus. This is it. The apocalypse. Woah. I'm waking up.

The mysterious man outside nodded his head to the rhythm, humming the lyrics. This girl truly intrigued him.

Too bad she had to die.

Clara moved boldly to the beat that dropped and Boris followed. He had never though he's find the perfect dance partner. Guess he was wrong. Vivaldi talked to her special security guard; saying something about her uncertainty about the outside court. She dismissed them when she heard a scream of fear as one of the large windows shattered into a million pieces. By instinct, Boris pulled Clara close to his body to shield her from the glass that was pouring down like rain.

"Now princess,~" a smooth voice echoed through the room and frightening Clara. She screamed in fright and Boris held her closer, and the rest of the people who attended the ball began to block her from the man.

"That's enough," Blood stood in front of everyone, his eyes a deadly crimson.

"Joker."

The mysterious man couldn't help but laugh at the mention of his own name. Clara was scared of the man. His black eyepatch covered his left eyes and gave his only other eye a evil look.
"All I wanted to was meet the outsider, Blood!~" Joker chuckled deeply, and Clara shook at the wavelength of it. She almost forgot she did not belong in this world; she had a home and family. True, both were broken and needed repairing, but still..

Who could leave this place after such a long time?

The friends that treasured her now stood in front of her, ready to lay their lives down for Clara.
"Don't worry." Peter squeezed her waist as Boris handed her over. "We won't let him hurt you like he did Alice." Clara's eyes widened and held onto Peter's waistcoat. So this was the man that killed their friend Alice?

"Joker." Blood's voice was as icy as his stance. "You will not lay a hand on Clara."

"So that's her name, eh?" Joker's smile only grew, reminding Clara of a cat slinking through a dense undergrowth.

"Well then, Clara," He held his hand to the young girl, "join me, and become part of the circus of life."

CLIFFHANGER!! DUN DUN DUNNN!!!! Ok. Got that out of my system. I'm starting like, two more fanfics and now I have like, twenty of them with only one chapter finished.
