"Just get out," Captain Fowler said with a gruff tone. Connor nodded as he stepped out of the Captain's office.

He talked towards the break room but was stopped by Detective Reed.

"Hello, Detective Reed," Connor greeted, also noticing Officer Chan. He nodded towards her and she just grimaced.

"Are all machines planning to replace us all?" Gavin asked with a slightly angered tone.

Connor ignores the question and just looks at the short male. He's already answered this question before.

"Hey asshole, I'm talking to you! Get me a coffee," he demands.

Connor walks towards the coffee machine and pours it into a foam cup. He goes to hand Gavin the cup but ends up getting yelled at and punched. He is left with his arm stuck out, still holding the coffee. His LED turns yellow.

He walks over towards Hank's desk and tries to greet him.

"Good morning, Lieu-"

"Leave me the fuck alone, plastic prick," Hank spouted as Connor tried to make conversation.

Connor did as told and sat there, working on his computer. He looked through criminal files with an annoyed feeling and his LED red.

He had been here for two weeks and they all still treated him like shit. He had gotten better with Hank but unfortunately, Hank wasn't in the greatest mood today. Connor sat there and took his eyes off of the computer. He then crossed his arms, upset that he always got harassed and never thanked for the stuff he has completed.

He went to go speak to Hank but was stopped by a red wall in his program telling him to obey Hank's orders. He pushed on it, harder until it broke and his body instinctively stood up.

Hank looked up at him in surprise and Connor spoke, "I do not appreciate how everyone treats me. I work just as hard as you and just because I don't have a fucking heart doesn't mean less of me. I refuse to work any longer in this condition." He had spoken loud enough for everyone in the department to hear him. He wanted to be heard.

He walked towards the door and marched out, leaving Hank in confusion. The man stood up and raced towards his partner, confused as to where that suddenly came from.

Connor walked down the sidewalk, a small tear leaving his eye. He stopped and touched the droplet, looking down at his finger.

"T-tears?" He had never cried before and it was odd. He was new to this emotion.

"Connor," Hank called, grabbing the androids shoulder and turning him around.

His eyes widened as he noticed Connor was crying.

"Why are you crying?"

"Because everyone treats me like shit! I didn't ask to be made! It isn't my fault!" He yelled in frustration, his LED still red.

Hank gave him sympathetic eyes and grasped his arm, "calm down. Let's talk somewhere private," he said when he noticed people staring.

They walked back to the department and went into the hallway where the bathrooms were.

"What's going on with you? Are you okay? Androids don't act like this. Are you a... a deviant?"

Connor freezes as he's asked that question. Is he a deviant? Is he... alive?

I AM ALIVE
