❗️WARNING: MENTIONS OF RAPE ❗️

Connor sat in Hank's car, crossed arms and his LED flashing red. His eyes flickered as he watched at the passing buildings.

Hank raised an eyebrow before questioning, "Are you okay, Connor?"

"Fine. I'm fine," Connor snapped.

Hank looked at him with surprise, the android had never once snapped at him nor anyone else besides when they were interrogating people.

The lieutenant decided not to say anything else, afraid to upset his lover more.

The car pulled into the DPD and before the car was at a full stop, Connor shoved open the door and sped inside.

He didn't greet the secretary as he usually did. He just walked past her and went to his desk, ignoring all and everybody. His fists has been clenched the whole time until he started typing on the computer.

Conan had seen how Connor looked upset and he walked over, leaving Gavin's side.

"Connor, are you okay? You seem to be upset," the upgraded android pointed out.

"I'm fine," Connor said with slight quivering in his voice.

Conan of course didn't believe him so he pushed on. Hank couldn't react fast enough to stop him.

"Connor, don't lie to me. I know-"

"Shut the fuck up, Conan!" Connor yelled, standing up with such a large force that it knocked over his chair. "If I say I'm fine, I'm fucking fine! Okay?! Leave me the hell alone!" The distraught android cried, tears falling down his face.

Connor pushed past the larger android and ran to the bathroom.

Gavin was about to walk towards Conan but instead, Conan chased after his brother.

The DBD had been watching and listening but quickly went back to their own business, feeling a bit awkward.

"Connor, stop," he grasped the smaller ones arm and pulled him to a halt.

Connor broke down, staying in his standing position but he sobbed into his hands.

"What's the matter?" Conan asked.

Connor shook his head, unable to give a verbal response.

"Calm down, you're okay. What's the matter?" Conan whispered, pulling his brother into a hug for comfort.

"Y-yesterday, I seen a l-little boy, 6 years old. He had been k-killed by a man who was trying to rape him. His body had been found in the sewers."

Conan's eyes softened as he found out why Connor was so upset.

"I-it reminded me of the story Hank had told me about his son, Cole. I couldn't stop thinking about that little boy. And the sadness just turned to anger and I just snapped. I wanted to kill that man for what he did to that boy. The kid didn't deserve it. He didn't."

Connor sobbed more before Conan noticed Hank coming towards them with Gavin. They both looked concerned.

Conan held up his finger saying give them a minute. Hank nodded and just stood there.

The blue-eyed android patted Connor's head, "I'm sorry you had to witness that, it isn't fair. That boy didn't deserve that. You're right. But the only thing we can do now is find that man and give that family justice, okay? Now you should go to Hank, I'm sure he wants to know why you were upset as well," he whispered so Hank and Gavin couldn't hear him.

"B-but, what if I upset Hank?"

"He might get upset but you guys can work this out. He'll want to help you. And you can help him as well. Now, please, go talk to him."

Connor nodded, pulling away from the hug. Before he went to go talk to Hank, he apologized to Conan for screaming at him.

Connor turned around and seen Hank standing there. He walked towards the lieutenant and hugged him, apologizing profusely.

Gavin walked towards Conan who just gave him a sad smile.

"What happened?" The short male asked curiously.

"It's nothing to worry about, baby boy. Connor just had a rough time with a case on a little boy," Conan wrapped his arm around Gavin's waist and kissed his forehead, turning them around so they could go back to work.

Meanwhile, Hank had gotten the story out of Connor and he was trying to tell him it would be okay.

"I hate people like that too, but we can't just kill him. Conan's right, we need to give that family justice, okay?" Hank said softly.

He was hurt as well. That kid didn't deserve it. He understood how it reminded Connor of Cole but Cole's death was an accident.

"D-do you know what his name was, Hank? Do you?" Connor looked up at Hank with teary eyes.

Hank shook his head no. "Well I do, I know his name," Connor replied, squeezing the fabric of Hank's shirt in his hands.

"It was Benny. Benny Faza. He was six fucking years old and his birthday was only a couple weeks away. G-goddammit!" Connor yelled, his body starting to shake again as he sobbed into his partners shoulder.

"Hey hey, calm down. Everything is going to be okay. I promise," the older man said, started to get emotional as well.

"You can't do that, Hank, not this time. That family will never feel okay. They'll never feel complete again. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

Hank didn't know what to say. He was speechless. What Connor said was true. That family would never feel complete. Hank would never feel complete after his sons death. That's why he was glad to have Connor with him. That family has each other to keep one another up.

They had them.

Hank had Connor.

And that's it.

•How was this? A bit sad, I know•
