"H-he... s-stop. Sh-shut up. God, just shut up!" Gavin screamed, holding his palms against his ears as he trembled in the corner of his and Conan's bedroom.

He could feel the monsters creeping towards him as he sat in the darkness. He whimpered and coughed as he tears fell down his chin. His chest was tight and it hurt to breath in.

Conan has stayed late at work while Gavin hadn't been feeling well today. He made a bad choice in staying home alone. He knew Conan had to stay later today but he still pushed himself to be alone. He shouldn't be so dependent on his husband.

"O-oh god, shut up!" He cried, small whines escaping his throat as he suppressed his sobs. "Leave me alone. Please leave me alone. You're fine, Gavin. You're fine. You're okay!" He sobbed, the air hitting the back of his throat like a knife.

He continuously hit his head on the wall behind him, wanting to go unconscious. He couldn't bare having these demons in his mind.

Gavin didn't even hear the front door of the dark house open and close. He didn't hear his name being called softly by his husband who wasn't sure if Gavin was asleep or not. He didn't know that his head banging sounds frightened his lover.

"Gav- oh, Gavin! Hey, hey, uncover your ears. It's me, I'm home. I'm here," Conan hurriedly said, grasping the smaller male's wrist lightly.

Gavin jumped at first but tackled his partner to the ground and sobbed into his chest, "they came back! I c-couldn't stop them! I could feel their hands on me, I felt it! I did what you told me to do but-"

"Breathe, baby boy, breathe," Conan said, regaining his balance and picking Gavin up just like he had on their wedding night. "I'm here now. I'll protect you. I'm here."
