(In the real world)

It was a bright white light hitting Delsin's eyes as he first opened them. He closed them immediately, in fear of damaging his eyes. Opening them again but slowly this time, he realized he's in a white room on a bed. 'Where the hell am I? What a dream....' he thought.

He noticed the huge window on in his right side and saw the sun shining bright as ever. He saw on his left side a bed tray with flowers on it and and Betty sitting on an armchair in the corner of the room, tear stains on each side of her eyes as she slept. He sighed in worry. 'Oh.....Betty. I'm sorry for worrying you so much' Delsin thought.

He looked around and saw a tv hanging on a stretched out stand on the wall and saw it was turned to the news. He look at the door last and saw what confirmed his theory. He saw nurses walking and hurrying along the halls, going into other rooms or just helping out the elderly.

Delsin tried to get up but the pain in his shoulder and chest were too great. He grunted in pain but still found the will to get up. He looked around to see a paper clip on the desk probably left there by a nurse. He picked it up and threw it at the sleeping Betty, waking her up from her slumber.

Betty looked around with her red eyes, which Delsin didn't know if it was from her tiredness or her crying so much but either way he felt immensely guilty, and when her eyes landed on Delsin, her tears started to reform. "Morning Betty...." was what Delsin said before she ran in and tackled him in her hugs and kisses.

"Oh my god, Delsin! You're alright! My baby!" Betty cried into his chest. "Don't ever do that again! From now on, I'll be your escort to and from school, you hear me?!" she screamed. Delsin sighed in tiredness. "You don't need to go through all that Betty, really. It was just one unfortunate night...".

Betty glared at him which told him to be quiet. "Delsin Rowe, you had bruises on your face, sprained ankle and you were shot in your shoulder and chest. It was a little more than an unfortunate night!" Betty scolded. Delsin sighed. "Look I get it! I'm sorry for worrying you so much and I'll never let this happen again. Can you get the doctor? I'd really just like to get outta here".

Betty nodded and kissed his cheek and left to get the nurse. Before she left through the door, she turned to him. "I'm serious Delsin. Don't leave me alone. You're all I have...." she said before leaving for the nurse. Delsin sighed. "You're all I have too, Betty" he whispered to himself. He looked at his hands and sighed.

He didn't feel any different other than the pain that is slowly subsiding due to the medicine he's hooked up to. He didn't feel stronger, faster, lighter or just about anything different. He sighed to himself. 'Must've been the morphine amplifying my dream. All of it was a dream I guess...'.

'Don't sell yourself short, Rowe...you're not hallucinating' a voice said. "What the-...John?". Delsin said as he jumped up. 'It'll be wiser to talk through your thoughts instead of out loud. Makes you look less crazy. Don't worry about that Betty woman, my powers can block her interference from me' John said.

'So...it was real....I have The Beast inside my head....I'm The Beast's reincarnation!....I have a quirk! Two quirks!' he thought with shock. 'Yes it was all real. You'll be training into your quirk and then learning to master mine afterwards. Let me tell you the attributes of your quirk....' he said as Delsin was listening intently.

'Besides your matter manipulation, it comes with good side effects. You're physically stronger as you see in the mirror by your bedpost, your physical appearance has altered a bit...'. Delsin looked to the bed post and stood. John's statements were correct as Delsin, who before all this was a skinny limp looking boy with frail bones, now had a muscle.
