13. Declaration Of War!

Time skip (3 weeks)

It was that time. The time that all first years have trained their asses for three weeks for. The Sports Festival, it was finally time. The students of class 1-A were training very hard over the break, determined to prove that they are strong and ready for the picking of internships but also, they were strong enough to stay in the hero course.

Delsin, for one, had trained his ass off as well. With a prize like Nejire, how could one not train like crazy? Especially as her training partner, she doesn't let you quit no matter what which is a great thing to have in a training partner. Not that he was gonna quit or anything, it's just her attitude about it all just made him try even harder and thanks to her, he discovered more abilities within his new power, Neon.

He figured out that unlike Smoke, which was more of an up close type power, Neon was more of a distant type power. Its not that he couldn't get up close with Neon but shooting wise, he realized that he could get further targets than Neon than with Smoke. He also discovered that little trick he did with Nejire when they first sparred. When he added Neon energy to his eyes, he gets a better vision.

It enhanced his line of sight, making him see about kilometer far and slow down time in his eye view which allows him to evade targets as well as get a better and close look on targets and their weak spots in their body to better take them down. He called this technique Laser Focus, due to his line of sight was instantly focused, like a laser pointer. Speaking of enhanced eyes, on the last day he had training in the training room, he learned something new with his eyes. When doing his occasional spar with his friend/crush, his eyes started burning.

At first it was a little sting, which he thought it was just the sweat from his forehead going into his eyes, so he ignored it for the most part but he soon felt the sting grow until he felt his eyes were just burning. He was  kneeling down and rubbing his eyes in pain and screamed. Nejire was so scared when she saw him collapse on the floor, screaming and ran towards him, trying to help but shortly after, Delsin opened his eyelids and out came a stream of neon that was aimed at the wall, burning a hole in the spot.

Once it finally stopped, Delsin and Nejire watched in shock at how deadly that could've been if she still stood there or furthermore, if anyone was on the other side of that wall, could've been burnt to death. It was clear that this power couldn't be used unless in a dire situation as well, Nejire made him promise that. If he used that on a student, the least that could happen was that he would be expelled, let alone going to jail for murder.

But in the event he called that move Laser Vision, obviously due to the lasers coming from his eyes. Then there was his speed. With the power of Neon, Delsin has gained the speed of light. Though he's still working on how fast he's going, again, due to his difficulty with his body but it can be said that he was easily as fast if not faster than Iida. To Delsin, it felt like time itself was slowing down when he ran but to outside viewers like Nejire, he was a light Neon purple blur, just zipping around the room.

He called it Light Speed, though arguably, he's running as fast as sound, but he has to improve on this at a later date to officially run as fast as light. On the last week of training, he focused on his trapping part. With Nejire's help, he was able to figure out a way to subdue his opponents by trapping them in a neon bubble, levitating them off the ground and trapping them.

This move was called Statis Bubble. He can easily say that he was ready to show his power and win this Festival. Not because he cares about a trophy or a dumb metal. He has a date to win and he can't afford to lose that. He already told Nejire when he'd pick her up, he will not disappoint her. As of now though, Delsin was eating scrambled eggs with a side of bacon and sausages with ham and butter with a side of orange juice he made for himself.
