Lee Taeyong was getting old, he was sure. He no longer wanted to party until dawn, drink until his stomach threatened to crawl out of his throat in protest, and dance until the inside of his head sounded like a drum set.

Instead, he wanted to spend nights watching chick flicks with his boyfriend, eating an unhealthy amount of ice cream and lounging about in his oversized hoodies with the sweater paws that Jaehyun loved so much on him.

"Oh my God how long were we at Ten's party for?! I'm frigging exhausted," Taeyong groaned, lying backwards over the arm of their sofa.

"Tae, it's five past ten. We were at the party for, like, an hour," Jaehyun rolled his eyes.

Taeyong sighed, rubbing his stomach, "We're not as young as we used to be, Jae. I think it's time for us settle down, get married, maybe have a kid or two, get stable jobs - God knows we need financial security - and-"

"You're drunk, Tae, just go change and then we can cuddle," Jaehyun said, wrapping his arms around Taeyong's slim waist, nuzzling his hair, still damp from his shower, into the crook of his neck.

"I'm not drunk," Taeyong said softly.

"So your serious?" Jaehyun chuckled offhandedly, turning on the TV with a press of a button on the remote.

Taeyong stayed quiet, a little embarrassed. To be honest...yeah. He was being serious. Sure, they were still in school, but they were soulmates. They were in love. And that was never going to change, so what was the point in waiting to get married? Better to get hitched while they were still young and beautiful, right?

"Yeah...I'm serious," Taeyong mumbled, drawing his feet underneath him on the sofa.

Jaehyun froze, the remote slipping out of his grip, "Wait...what?"

Taeyong sighed, mustering up the confidence to initiate the conversation with Jae he'd been waiting to have ever since he'd found out he was his soulmate.

"I'm serious, Jae. I want to get married and I want to have kids. I want us to settle down."

"And we can do all that, babe. When we're like thirty and we're-"

"Thirty?!" Taeyong screeched, "But that's such a long time away!"

"Most people get married in their thirties these days, Tae, there's nothing bad about it."

"But why do we have to wait that long? Jaehyun I'm in love with you. And you love me too right?" Jaehyun nodded, "So why should we wait? We're young and we're in love. I want to be with you now," Taeyong said, staring Jaehyun right in the eyes.

"You're already with me, babe."

Taeyong jumped up, turning off the TV in one swift movement.

"You don't understand, Jae! Getting married is so important to me. I don't want to wait when your right here for the taking."

"You're talking like we suddenly gonna fall out of love, Tae! We're soulmates. We have the rest of our lives to get married. We don't have to rush it."

"How would it be rushing? We're gonna end up with each other anyway!" Taeyong stomped, putting his hands on his hips.

"Ok, enough. You're acting like a child, Tae. You're drunk, just go to sleep and we'll talk in the morning," Jaehyun sighed, running his hand through his hair.

"I'M NOT DRUNK!" the elder male spat back, "You're acting like this is something I'm going to grow out of, but it's not! This matters to me so much-"

"AND WHAT ABOUT ME, HUH TAE?!" Jaehyun roared, jumping up, "DID YOU EVEN THINK FOR ONE SECOND ABOUT WHAT I WANT? WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO GET MARRIED?!"

The anger that had started to fester inside Taeyong suddenly swept away. It was like Jaehyun had stabbed him straight in the heart and left him to bleed.

"You don't want to get married?" He whispered, his eyes shimmering with tears.

Jaehyun didn't reply. Instead, he sat back down, grabbing the black remote he'd dropped earlier and turning on the TV once again.

"Jae? Answer me! You don't want to get married?" Taeyong kneeled in front of his soulmate, tears rolling down his cheeks.

"Jae please...please...please talk to me..." he begged.

But Jaehyun didn't answer.

Taeyong's heart ached as he slammed the door to their shared bedroom, crumpling back against the door as he broke into sobs.

Jaehyun turned the volume up on the TV. Anything to drown out the sound of Taeyong's tears.

Sorry this chapter is kind've sad. It will get better I promise!

I haven't updated in AGES and that's because things have been super difficult at school. My mental health is deteriorating almost as fast as my innocence 😪

Now for a weird question:

What do you guys think about mpreg?

Personally, I've always been pretty opposed to it, but I dunno, I think it would fit pretty well into the story 🤷‍♀️. If you guys don't like it, I won't put it in, but please think about it 😁

Merry Christmas Eve!
