Yukhei felt like he was swimming. He felt like he was lost at sea, miles away from land. And weirdly, it wasn't in a bad way. In fact, it felt good - freeing, even - to feel detached from the world. It made the stress and the worries and the expectations go away until there was nothing but him in a mindless spiral. And he knew that it was never good to get-shit faced drunk, but sometimes he had to. It just felt right, you know?

He stumbled onto his feet, grabbing a drink out of somebody's hand, gulping it down in one before chucking the empty solo cup somewhere behind him.

Things had been so stressful lately. The coach blamed him for their loss at their last basketball game, his parents were driving him up the wall breathing down his neck like vultures, he had two overdue assignments and Veruca had been ignoring him for the past couple of days.

Yukhei stopped in his tracks, seeing a grey head bobbing through the thick crowd.

He pushed through the congregation of sweaty young adults. Finally he caught up with her, wrapping his hands around her waist.

"Gotcha!" He smirked.

Jungwoo always made a promise to himself before ever going to a party: Kim Jungwoo. You will not get shit-faced drunk this time.

And every time, he broke that promise.

He'd lost Jae about an hour ago due to the throbbing pack of sweaty people in the middle of Ten's living room, pressed up against each other like sardines in a tin.

He hadn't seen Ten at all since arriving to the party (which he thought was terrible hosting), Taeyong had left almost as soon as he'd arrived, Sicheng had ran off somewhere, and Doyoung was god knows where. Doyoung wasn't the type to have flings or get super drunk, so maybe he'd left already.

"Gotcha!" Jungwoo heard as large hands wrapped around his waist.

Finally. Jae was back.

"Hey," Jungwoo giggled, leaning back into the broad chest behind him.

The hands tightened around his waist, slipping deftly under the hem of his crop top to brush his ribs.

"Why have you been ignoring me?" The taller male said, dipping his head to kiss along Jungwoo's sensitive neck.

"Ignoring you? I haven't seen you for, like, an hour," Jungwoo replied, trying to turn around to face his date.

"And what about my texts? They didn't go through, huh?" Jae said, chucking lowly.

On one hand, Jungwoo found it threatening and a little devilish. But on both hands, he found it ridiculously hot.

His voice sounds deeper than usual...hot.

"I guess I must've missed them. But that's okay,"
Jungwoo looped his arms around Jae's neck, batting his eyes as seductively as good (and then he had to close them because the combination of being horribly drunk and Ten's strobe lights were starting to make him dizzy).

Jungwoo leaned in, breathing deeply to take in Jae's scent.

Weird...he smells a lot more...masculine...than I thought he would.

"'Cause we can communicate in other ways," he rose to the tips of his toes to whisper in Jae's ear.

"Damn right we can," Jae whispered back, "But we gotta get outta here."

He's sending mixed messages...earlier it seemed like he wanted to be all sweet and gentleman like, but now he's being all possessive and sexy...not that I'm complaining.

"Ten's guest room. I made him use the fancy bedding just in case," Jungwoo giggled, turning to lead his date up to Ten's guest room.

This is a short chapter but I can't really add to it cos the next chapter is going to be another Yuwin Chapter! I'm gonna make this book focus on the other couples more than last book, and I'm also gonna add EVEN MORE angst (as you saw with the Jaeyong chapter.)

Also, I may have forgot to say that the soul marks only appear after the soulmates touch HANDS, nor just any body part (if that confused anyone 😋)
