During the weekends before my part time job, I followed the piece of parchment paper and ended up before an apartment. The reason why I'm doing this...I don't really have one, but I feel like I have to know. Especially after those dreams that started since I met Jaemin...
I rang the doorbell of the apartment. I recalled the vampire saying that he was human. There were shuffling sounds coming from inside the room and finally, the door clicks open.
A boy looking slightly older than me with disheveled black hair was the one who opened the door.
He squints, trying to make out who I was. To my surprise, his eyes immediately flew wide open with shock.
"Your aura is...interesting." He murmurs.
"What?"
"No, nothing. What business do you have here?" He crosses his arms and leaned against the open door.
"Are you...Mark?" He cocks a brow at my question.
"Yes. Why?"
"Jaemin told me to come here." I said, and he pushes himself off the door.
It was in the piece of paper Jaemin gave me. He said to tell Mark I came because he asked me to.
"I see. Come in." He steps aside to let me in and I did.
Closing the door behind, he guides me to the dining table. The two of us sat opposite of one another.
"So? Why did he ask you to come here?" Mark asked.
"He told me I can come here to find out more about the beings that are not me." I answer truthfully, and he hums.
"Okay. But firstly, tell me. How did a human girl like you...well, you know."
"I apparently wandered into his world."
"You wandered in?" Mark exclaims.
I nod.
"Huh. Interesting...alright, tell me what you want to know."
I was taken aback by his steadfastness, but eventually spoke up.
"Well...tell me about the underworld first. What exactly is it?"
"Hmmm, the underworld? It's a place where both vampires and werewolves reside." He explains, and I gasp at the word werewolves.
"Werewolves...?"
"Yeah. They exist, you know. But unfortunately, the vampires and werewolves aren't very friendly with each other,"
"They have been hostile for decades. It is not obvious on the surface, but in the underworld is a different story."
"Hostile..." I mumbled to myself and something inside of me ached to hear that.
"That's right. But they weren't always like that. The vampire prince and the son of the werewolf clan's leader were good friends. At that time, there was already friction between the two species, and those two were the only ones keeping the link. Then something happened that broke that link. That's how the hostilities began..."
Mark hesitated to speak before saying, "There were rumours that the reason of their break was a human girl."
"A human?
"Yes...though I have no idea if it's true. That is all I know of their history."
There was silence, until I asked,
"What happened to those two then? The vampire and the werewolf."
"Well, they both started living human lives."
"...Do you know their identities?"
"No, but..." He looks directly at me. "They might be closer to you than you think."
"What?"
"I can see auras. It's something I had since I was born. Typical humans have a green aura. Vampires have red aura. Werewolves have grey aura. And you,"
"Happen to have all three."
