Day 6, midnight"...Hello, Dad."
Renjun greeted with a slight bow, before trailing his eyes onto his father who lay on his majestic bed.
"Son. What a surprise to see you...why have you come by?"
The man's voice, though weak, reverberated throughout the room they were in.
Renjun managed to stifle a grimace looking at how poor of a condition his father was in. He was pale, weak, and barely had any energy left to move. The werewolf king was right — he had numbered days.
But it wasn't because he had fallen seriously ill, nor was it due to an unfortunate injury. It was simply his time to go; to fall into a deep slumber that he would never wake from.
"I came to ask of you for something bold,"
He swallowed hard, knowing how much of a gamble his next words were.
"Allow me to take you position now, father."

Day 6, morning
The doors to the meeting room burst open.
A large assembly of the werewolf clan's leaders were all present, and the werewolf at the very end of the table shot a glare at whoever that had dared to interrupt their meeting.
It was the werewolf clan's messenger that came charging in.
"Pardon my intrusion! King, the vampire prince has arrived!"
Upon hearing this, the room began to stir. The man at the end of the table — the clan's leader — smirked.
"Is that so?"
"Yes, sir. He is waiting in the guest room now."
"Very well, I shall meet him. This meeting is adjourned."
He strides towards the exit, walking past the messenger and towards the guest room.
Without knocking, he throws the oak door open and enters the lavishly decorated room — comfy black sofas facing each other with same coloured cushions on them, a bright light overhead illuminating the entire room to make it look bigger than it actually was.
The vampire prince sat at the couch closest to the door, and this meant that his back was facing the werewolf king from where he walked in.
The king briskly made his way to his seat, which was opposite of the prince.
He was overjoyed, knowing that his pawn had fallen right into his hands.
Well, not until his eyes met the vampire prince's.
The snide smile from his face vanished, replaced with a frown.
"Who are you? You're not the vampire prince,"
His slightly enraged voice echoed throughout the guest room.
"Do you think that this is a joke?"
The vampire prince(?) only smiled.
"Rather rude of you to say that, sir. My name is Na Jaemin, and, I very much am a vampire prince,"
The king furrowed his brows, clearly not understanding anything. There was only one vampire prince known — and that was Renjun.
And the boy before him was certainly not the vampire prince he had seen before.
Seeing his expression, Jaemin continued.
"As of today, I have been appointed as vampire prince by our new king. It is to my understanding that you've asked for the presence of the prince, which would be me."
"What?" He spat in disbelief. "This cannot be."
Jaemin's lips twitched, satisfied at his reaction.
However, his expression soon turned sombre, lips pressed into a thin line.
"I'll have you know, that this isn't a joke as well. I came here to retrieve the girl you took hostage of."
He says cooly, and the werewolf clenched his fists tightly.
"You're playing around with me, huh? The cheek of you..."
"I'll ask again, sir. Where is the girl?"
