"Hye In! Are you okay?" Haechan, a friend of Hye In's, ran up to her as she falls flat on the ground during PE. She had accidentally tripped over a rock a skinned her knees.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'll just head to the infirmary." She got off from the ground herself, and started to walk slowly towards the infirmary.
"Hey wait, I'll help you—"
Haechan's words were cut off as Renjun jogs up to the girl standing a few steps away from him.
"I'll take you there." He says, and then turns back to flash a glare in the werewolf's direction.
Haechan pursed his lips into the thin line and backed away.
At the infirmary, the nurse helps Hye In wash her wound as I stand at the side and observed.
"Thank god I had my fill earlier." I mumbled to myself and swiftly looked away as the sight of fresh blood greeted me.
"Okay, she's all wrapped up and done. I have a meeting I need to attend, so I leave her in your care." The nurse says with a smile and leaves the room.
"Let's go back to the classroom." I offered her my hand, but she only stares at it then looks up at my face.
"No."
"What?"
"You know, it's been nearly half a school year I've been here. What is going on with you and Haechan?"
She asks, her gaze on me unfaltering.
I was momentarily speechless by the familiarity of that look, but then I sighed and took a seat opposite of her.
The bed creaked under me.
"You want to know?"
"Yes." She nods.
"We used to be very good friends, but because of a certain incident, it caused our friendship to end. That's it."
"What incident?"
I darted my eyes away from her face.
"...I can't tell you that. I'm sorry."
"Hmm...alright...I understand," She accepts my answer.
"But then, I feel like, whatever the reason is..." She trails off, and continues, "Can't you two make up by communication? Talk to each other."
I smile wistfully. "I'm afraid it's not that simple. We are not the only parties involved."
