Scared was an understatement whenever Darius introduced himself to my parents, as I stayed silent trying to calm myself down as I allowed them to speak. It took a while for my dad to put his guard down but I'm sure whenever he noticed the way Darius described me that he really loved me.

Yet he kept his hard exterior to keep my boyfriend from knowing that he really accepted him into the family.

"Your dad was definitely scared to see you speaking about another guy other than him," My mom admitted, playing with my curly hair. "But I knew the moment Darius introduced himself that he wasn't cocky but confident. I can't believe that you're in a relationship but it's what to expect as you grow."

I nodded my head, as I watched my dad speaking to Darius who gazed at me every time.

"I was definitely scared to introduce him to y'all." I confessed. "He's very important to me."

"I know that we have to take our seats now, so good luck on the game." She kissed my cheek before staring ahead at her husband. "Let me get your dad, he gon' talk Darius head off with basketball."

"I know.." I laughed, hugging my mom again as we went to our men. "Hey dad!"

"Hey, I'm trying to tell your boyfriend that Michael Jordan is the still how do you say the greatest basketball player of all time," My dad stated. "Now I have a lot of respect for LeBron James but I personally watched and went to a few games that Michael Jordan stared in."

"I'll have to take you to a game soon, sir." Darius joked, giving me a smirk. "You good?"

"Yeah." I nodded my head, as I pulled him away from my family then into a hallway and kissed him. "I'm really sorry if my parents were hard on you."

"Nah, it's good." He waved it off. "I'm sure every parent is like that whenever their getting to know their daughter's boyfriend. I got accepted into the family so I'm happy about that, what about you?"

"I'm happy too." I smiled. "We have to get dressed in the shirt that Jacqueline made for us."

"Oh yeah.." Darius remembered. "I'll see you later."

"Okay." I grinned, turning on my heels into the direction of my room.

I opened up the door, as Jacqueline walked out of the bathroom with her shirt on.

"How was it with Darius meeting the family?" She raised a brow.

"Girl, I was so scared that I stopped speaking." I said, making her eyes widen. "My parents did a lot of questioning, Darius answered smoothly, and then I ended up crying whenever explaining my love for him, as my dad finally let his guard down, so he's accepted."
