It felt good to be outside running on the track, especially in the morning whenever the sun wasn't out yet. It was a bit chilly out which is good. I had on a white muscle shirt, black jersey shorts, and white Air Force ones to run in. Instead of Constance running with me, Lamont volunteered and I turned to look at him as he caught up.
"You trust her that much to tell her that?" I questioned, after slowing down a bit more for him to catch up. I would've never thought he would be that comfortable to tell her about his illness.
"I mean she's my best friend, why not?" He replied with a half shrug. "I figured she would've found out anyways. Even though it's a illness, I trust her enough to know that."
"That's deep." I took a sip from my water bottle. "I'm proud of you for doing that."
"Ain't shit deep about that Darius," He disagreed with a frown on his face. "I can't control my anger, and then my anger turn into sadness. I know I'm bipolar, they just want to label that shit something fancier."
I kept my mouth shut and decided to change the subject off of that topic. "You texted that number you got?"
"Not really," He responded. "I do want to invite her to party though, you think I should?"
"Hell yeah, if you want to get to know her you should." I told him. "It could keep your mind occupied on other stuff bro."
"Well I guess I will then." He smirked. "At first I had a crush on Constance you know? She the one who told me to go for it. I know she sees me as a brother."
"Isn't she the only child?" I asked.
"Yeah, I think so." He nodded his head.
"Oh, well she might be doing you favor."
"You think she knew I liked her?" He looked at me with a glowering look on his face.
"Possibly," I smirked. "How'd you end up getting her number anyways?"
"Well I was ordering my food like a normal person would," He started before deep into the story. "Then, next thing I knew she was taking glances at me. At first, I thought she was just trying to figure out who I was and if I looked familiar.. I know I'm a fine guy so I didn't really think to much of her glances."
"You funny ass hell bro, but continue."
"I was. But she then asked my name, I told her and she told me hers." He trailed off. "Then, we communicated a bit about the game, she obviously liked what she saw and then I got a look at her, she had some pretty ass teeth and some dimples that I thought was cute. So I ended up asking for her number, and she didn't hesitate to give it to me."
"This all went down whenever she was on clock?" I questioned.
"Yeah, I was ordering my food and we talked a bit." The corner of his mouth lifted. "She seemed cool."
