    "Psst! Kris!"
Kris was nearly asleep when someone had whispered sharply at him. He wiped the sleep out of his eyes and looked around.
"My goodness, Kris! You take way too long," the voice growled from the window.
Kris got up and peered out the window to see the gigantic face of Susie. They both yelped, and Kris fell over with a dull thud. Asriel let out a tiny mumble and turned in his sleep.
"Kris, be careful!" Susie hissed. Kris got up and massaged his back. He found it unfair that he got the blame for falling on his butt, but it was normal for Susie to do that, so he decided to let it slide.
"We're going to see Lancer and Ralsei," she whispered. Kris looked at her in disbelief.
"Come on!" She forced the window open, grabbed Kris by the arm, and dragged him outside into the cold.
Kris had no choice but to follow Susie through the dark neighborhood. They soon reached the school, which looked as lonely and gloomy as ever at midnight. Just when Kris was wondering how to get in, Susie smashed a window open, which emitted a loud crash that echoed throughout the empty streets. Kris jumped slightly.
"What are ya waiting for?" Susie urged him as she hopped through the hole. Kris crawled in after her.
Their footsteps echoed through the dark halls as they approached the supply closet. They both stopped in front of the two doors.
"Umm..." Susie mumbled and looked around. "Last time we walked into there, we got locked in, fell on our butts, and appeared in a creepy eye land. Let's go to the unused classroom and find a way there."
They went over to another door, which was at the very corner of the hall. Kris opened the door, and they walked into the small classroom, in which they breathed in an atmosphere of loneliness. It was as messy as they left it; tiny toys, pieces from board games, and cards littered the floor. Kris closed the door behind him while Susie looked around.
"OK, great. Now what?" Susie looked at Kris.
It was your idea, you should know, Kris wanted to argue.
A gentle voice from the wall in front of him distracted his thoughts.
"I've been waiting for you, Lightners!"
