Anushka held a rose close to her heart, clutching it in a way so that it wouldn't crush but at the same time, she could feel the expression that came from it. She was at a fashion event in Delhi that she couldn't have missed at all; for it was directed towards a charitable cause and, she was walking the ramp. That she already did. And right after she came to the changing room, her manager, Ritika gave her a bouquet of red roses with a small card placed right at the centre. The card held a message for her, which was simple yet heart-warming at the same time.

To my one and only,
Happy 1 month. I've been the happiest this month than I'd ever been.

Yours, V.

Anushka couldn't hold back the huge smile that her face erupted into; she just couldn't control the warmth that she felt inside her heart and it resulted with a single tear that fell on her cheek as she continued reading the same lines, over and over and over again. She took out a single red rose from the beautifully decorated bouquet and held it close to her. She couldn't be happier and sad at the same time. Happier because she received the roses and the message which meant so much to her and also the fact that he remembered their one month anniversary and exhibited an effort to make it special. However, sad because they were not physically together at the moment to celebrate this feeling. Anushka instantly took out her phone and dialled his number.

After five seconds, he picked up the call and her whole heart melted at hearing his voice.

Virat: Hello?

Anushka: Happy one month to you, too, mister.

Virat: *chuckles* Thank you. I hope tumhe roses pasand aaye.

Anushka: Bohot zyadaaaa! I can't believe you did this, Virat. You didn't really have to.

Virat: I know I didn't have to but I wanted to. And now I'm happy that you liked it.

Anushka: I loved it, actually. Thank you so much. Aap abhi ho kaha?

Virat: You're welcome, baby. Abhi toh bas gym. Are you coming tonight?

Anushka: Not tonight. Tomorrow morning. See you then?

Virat: Sure, baby. Take care.

With that they disconnected their calls and went into doing their respective chores. Virat smiled, trying to imagine Anushka's smile upon seeing the roses. To say that their relationship was proceeding in a good way would be an understatement- it was ecstasy at its best. They both were beyond happy at this phase- a month only- and this somehow scared them and made them happy at the same time. Scared because they both knew what they both were in their professions; timing and space, and also because it was unreal to be able to feel so happy in a relationship that had exceeded only a month. Upon this, Virat remembered telling Anushka:

Ek dusre le liye banaya hai hum dono ko bhagwan ne. Shayad isiliye one month mein itne khush hai hum.

And this he really and truly believed in. Virat could almost feel it in his heart that they were made for each other - the complemented each other pretty well, too. They both were happy with the way things were working out and neither of them had any intention of letting the world know they were dating. They knew what the consequences would be and they were not at all ready for it. The only people who knew about their relationship were their immediate families, close friends and their managers. What they really wanted was to lead a simple life but for now, they wanted a normal relationship where they can enjoy and feel like teenagers all over again. Somehow, they didn't know that what they had between them was not just a basic simple teenage story. It was much more than that and they were soon to realize that.

"Haan Maa, bolo." Virat called out over the phone, throwing his jacket on the sofa as he walked into his apartment.

"Veeru, tu phone kyun nahi utha ta? Kabse call kar rahi thi main." Saroj Kohli, Virat's mother, said from the other line. She was apparently really mad at him for not picking up her calls, which he has been doing a lot since the beginning of this year. She was afraid he would change and she'd lose her son but she also had faith in his goodness.

"Arre Maa, phone silent pe tha. Main gym se bas aya hi hoon. Yeh sab choro, aap kaisi ho? Meri yaad aati hai?" Virat teased, knowing this would help him escape her scolding.

"Yaad kyun nahi ayegi? Roz hi toh aati hai. Tu ghar kab aa raha hai?" His mother asked.

"Jaldi, Maa, bohot jaldi." Virat said, pursing his lips.

"Bahu se milana bhi toh hai." Now this was her turn to tease Virat. Ever since he had told his mother about Anushka, she couldn't stop but has been pressing him, on a daily basis, to arrange time so that she could meet her 'bahu'.

"Maa, woh abhi tak tumhari bahu nahi hai. Bas 1 mahina hua hai, kya aap bhi. Batana hi nahi chahiye tha." He murmured exactly when the bell to his door rang.

After bidding goodbye to his mother, he went to open the door, only to be blessed by the best view he could ever ask for. Standing by the door was Anushka in a cute dress, her hair tied into a ponytail with fringes hanging by the forehead. She was looking way too cute for him to not just go over there and pinch her cheeks. But at present, he was really happy to see her.

"Hey!" She exclaimed, giving him her best smile

"Hey!" She exclaimed, giving him her best smile.

"Anushka? I didn't....come in, come in." Virat ushered her in.

They embraced each other and remained in that position for a long time until Virat let go. "I'm so happy to see you. Kab land kiya Mumbai?" He asked as they went and sat by the couch.

"Bas two hours ago. Couldn't wait to see you." She smiled and rested her head on his shoulder.

He smiled, leaning on to her and they spent the evening just like that; arms around one another with exchanges of sweet kisses, sitting by the balcony and talking about their life as they were already on their getting-to-know-each-other phase. Virat ordered pasta that evening and they ended the night with a movie before Anushka left for home.

Everything was going well and they were happy. Perhaps both Virat and Anushka were relaxed and calm because they weren't in the zone where people knew about them and also because both of them were together, physically. How was it supposed to last when neither of them would be together and would be travelling differently? How will they handle the darker side of relationships?

Or pethaps, love would conquer all?
