Bloody Flowers

No one knew. Even though they've lived together for 2 years now, no one knew. To Hyunjin, it was his only sign of relief. He didn't want them to worry, to be disappointed. But after a while, it was getting out of hand.

Hyunjin had fallen in love. In love with a very special person, Minho. Sure, Minho had never shown a sign of liking him back, but his heart couldn't help it.

Sadly, it was very clear to Hyunjin that Minho didn't love him back, from all the lovey-dovey looks he'd give Jisung and all the touchiness between them. He knew it was too late when he woke up one day and sprinted to the bathroom, puking up what looked like to be some flower petals.

After many hours of research, Hyunjin finally understood what was happening to him. He had developed what was a rare disease called the Hanahaki Disease. The disease would be caused by a one-sided love, which would cause the victim to puke up flowers until the flower has fully bloomed, taking up the victim's lungs, causing them to die.

The disease could automatically be fixed with a simple procedure, however it came with a cost. Yes, the procedure prevented death, but it also got rid of all the love and affection felt for sed person.

After several long months, Hyunjin started losing energy. He started puking up almost full flowers and sometimes even stems covered in blood. His body couldn't take it anymore and his members were starting to notice.

"Jinnie? Are you ok? You've been acting so weird for the past few months." Seungmin asked leaning against the mirror, looking down at the boy on the ground gasping for air.

"I'm–I'm fine, Minnie." Hyunjin said trying to catch his breath.

"Are you sure, Hyunjin? You seem more tired than usual." Woojin said walking up to Hyunjin and feeling his forehead to make sure he didn't have a fever.

"Yeah hyung, I'm fine. Just a little tired from practice." Hyunjin said shaking Woojin's hand off of him.

"But we just started..."Jeongin mumbled into his straw, leaning against Chan.

"Hey Hyunjinnie, can I uhh talk to you?" Felix asked looking down at the ground, twiddling his thumbs.

"Uh sure?" Hyunjin said making it seem more like a question than a regular response.

"So uhh I found this flower in the washroom. Today." Felix said pulling out a small flower.

"Ok..." Hyunjin said trying to act as calm as normal.

"I know it's from you. I found it with a pile of the exact same flower. They had blood on them." Felix said looking up at Hyunjin trying to read his face.

"I–you can't tell anyone." Hyunjin said with tears filling up in his eyes.

"Why Jinnie? Who's doing this to you?" Felix asked grabbing onto Hyunjin to make him look up.

"I–I can't tell you." Hyunjin said with his tears leaving his eyes.

"Please Jinnie, I want to help." Felix begged and at this point, he was also crying.

"He–he doesn't love me back. He's always with Ji–another person." Hyunjin said choking at the end of his sentence.

"Ji? Who's Ji–OH MY FLIPPING PANCAKES, YOU LOVE MINHO." Felix said sounding so shook it could be deemed as fake.

"H–he'll never love m–me. He al–already loves Ji–Ji–Jisung and and I'm just gon–gonna d–die alone." Hyunjin sobbed.

"It's ok. I'm gonna beat the cheesecakes out of Minho. Literally he's been eating cheesecake with Jisung lately." Felix muttered under his breath as he pulled Hyunjin into a hug.

"N–no Lixie please. D–don't hurt him, I–I–I still love h–him with my whole h–hea–heart." Hyunjin cried into Felix's shoulder.

"F–fine, but I'm not letting you die. Now come on let's go back inside." Felix hesitated pulling away from Hyunjin to wipe away his tears.

"Guys–oh my god what happened?" Chan said going outside to tell them to come back in.

"It's uhh it's nothing, hyung." Hyunjin said quickly turning around to face Chan.

"Are you sure? You've been acting weird lately." Chan said becoming a lot more suspicious than before.

"Yeah, hyung. I promise." Hyunjin lied drying his face and giving him a reassuring smile.

"Ok.? Let's get back to practice then." Chan said looking over to Felix before he turned around and walked back inside.

-Time Skip to a FewMonths Later-

Over the past few months, Felix has been pestering Hyunjin into getting the surgery. Well honestly, all his members were, all except for one.

Minho hadn't noticed what's been going on. He's been too busy stuffing his face with cheesecake as he cuddled with Jisung.

Jisung, however knew. He knew that Hyunjin loves Minho. Minho was too blind to notice. Jisung even tried to distance himself from Minho, but he'd keep coming back. He felt guilty. He'd feel even more guilty if Hyunjin actually died knowing it's his fault Minho didn't love him back.

Hyunjin had reassured Jisung that it was and has never been his fault, but he never believed him. Hyunjin told him that if he were to die, it'll make him happy knowing that him and Minho were happy. You see, Hyunjin may have been dying, but he would always put his loved ones first.

After a couple more weeks of constant pestering and the puking of full flowers and stems, Hyunjin finally decided to go and get the surgery.

His was dying and he knew it, but for the sake of the others, he decided to get the surgery. Even with the surgery, Hyunjin still had the chance of dying because of how long he's had the Hanahaki Disease. So Hyunjin really had nothing to lose anymore.

After several hours of surgery, Hyunjin finally made it out. He may have lost a lot of blood, but the doctors said he'd survive. The members were overjoyed about the news. Sadly Minho still hadn't found out about any of this, even though it's been happening right in front of his eyes.

"He should be good to go. He'll just have to sign here, here, here and here." the doctor said doing a final check up before showing Woojin the release forms.

"Alright, thank you so much Dr. Park." Woojin said taking the release forms and bowing to Dr. Park as he left.

——Time Skip to the Dorms——

"I'm going to bed, I'm tired from the surgery." Hyunjin said going up to his room.

"Y–you had a surgery?" Minho asked stopping Hyunjin from walking up the stairs.

"Yeah, it was a minor surgery. No biggy hyung." Hyunjin said not turning around.

"Oh alright, rest up well. JISUNG~AH WHERE ARE YOU?"Minho yelled for the squirrel letting go of Hyunjin.

All was fine. It was, before Minho went to talk to him. The Hanahaki surgery is supposed to get rid of all the love and affection felt for the other person. In this case it would be Minho, however there is a 0.04% chance that you'll get the Hanahaki Disease again.

Hyunjin is one of those super unlucky people. But he knew, he knew his love for Minho was strong. Especially after puking up a mix of Orange Blossoms and withered flowers.

Both signifying eternal love and rejected love. With that Hyunjin passed away, knowing that his love for Minho will never die.

i know this oneshot was really bad but i tried to finish it as soon as possible.

I've been busy lately which is why i haven't been updating often. ill try to get better at updating.
