Emma's POV

"I can't go to your rehearsal tomorrow," I told Luke.

"What? Why not? Ashton was so excited for you to go... We all were," he nervously laughed.

My eyes narrowed. "O-Kay. I can't go, because I have to go to Alex's game tomorrow."

He rolled his eyes. "Do you have to go to that?"

"Yes, if I want to be a good girlfriend."

"But he's a terrible boyfriend."

"He is not."

"He wouldn't give you his sweatshirt, Ashton did."

"Maybe he'll be nicer if I actually show up to one of his games."

"Doubt it," he mumbled.

"Where is everyone?"

"Michael and Sammy went to go get pizza, and Calum and Ashton went to go get fruit and chips I guess."

"They'll be here soon, right?"

"Yeah."

"Good. I'll be right back."

He nodded and I went upstairs. I changed into yoga shorts and a white t-shirt. As I was about to leave I heard my phone vibrate, and I slowly sank onto my bed as I read the text.

Right now? Why does Alex want me to go outside, right now? I brushed off any negative thoughts and just started the walk downstairs. I eventually made it past Luke and out the door, and saw Alex shifting slightly.

"Um, hey? What are you doing here?"

"We need to talk."

"About what?"

"Well, first, is that always what you wear around three single guys?"

"Yeah, kind of? They know I'm not single, so it's not like they'd try anything."

"Really? Even Ashton?"

"Ashton would never do something like that."

"How can you be so sure?"

"Because I've known him a lot longer than you, and I know he would never do that."

"Fine, but since we're on the topic of Ashton.."

My eyes narrowed. "I swear to god, if you give me am ultimatum, I guarantee you aren't going to like my decision."

"What? No, that's not what I was doing, but thanks for bringing that to my attention."

"Oh come on. You should know that Ash means a lot to me."

"And I don't?"

"No, of course you do, it's just... Like the sweatshirt thing today."

"What about it?"

"He's the one that gave me the sweatshirt, and you didn't. You, my boyfriend."

"I can't believe you're mad at me, when I'm the one that should be mad."

"You? Please tell me why you're the one that should be mad."

"You took his sweatshirt. His."

"I was cold, and you definitely weren't doing anything about that."

"I was going to, but-"

"No you weren't. There was no chance in hell that you were going to give your sweatshirt to me."
