Ashton's POV
"Okay, so let's try me, Sam, and Jen harmonizing and Rebecca being the lead," Emma said. "And one, two, three, four..."
"No, need to try, he's just riiiiiggghhhhtttt," the three harmonized.
"He's got that something, I can't let nobody tell me," Rebecca sang.
"No, I don't mind. Takes me hiiiiigggghhh."
"I won't stop until that boy is mi-i-i-i-ine."
The girls looked at us expectantly. "Em was right. That sounded amazing," I said.
They smiled. "Thanks Ash," Emma said.
"Great idea to do a Little Mix song," Michael said to Sam.
She blushed and pulled the sleeves of her California Love crew neck over her hands. "Thanks. Does it sound good enough for the audition?"
"Definitely."
She exhaled and leaned back into his chest.
"I say we do a complete run through, just to be sure," Rebecca said, reminding me of Emma. She adjusted her skirt while trying to stand up, while managing to hold the guitar in her other hand.
"I agree," Em said, standing up as well. She centered her scarf again so that she looked absolutely perfect like she always does.
"Okay, fine. But please remember that we're sitting on the lawn at our school so let's not make a big deal about this," Jen said, also standing up and being careful not to flash us in her really low cut, white tank top.
Sam sighed and stood up. She counted off and they started to sing.
"Baby pleeeeeaaaaasssssseeeeee. Ahh," Sam giggled just like Perrie would have done in the song. All of the students that had gathered applauded and Michael beamed. It was like you could literally see him falling in love with her as she sang.
"Well, so much for not making a big deal about this," Jen laughed.
Emma shrugged and walked over to me. "Well?"
"Amazing, like always. You guys are going to kill it at the audition. And besides, we make the final decision on who is going to be our opening act, so we're kind of biased."
She laughed and wrapped her arms around my neck, and I wrapped my arms around her to draw her closer.
"Just kiss already," Luke yelled.
We both blushed and pulled away from each other. It's not like I have a problem with kissing her, but I want our first kiss to be special.
"What's going on here?" our principal asked.
"We were just heading back to class," Michael said.
"Really?"
We all nodded.
"Very well. Make it fast or you're going to be late."
"Yes ma'am," we mumbled and then walked (ran) into the school.
Luckily we made it to class on time. We had almost made it the entire school year without having out teachers separate us, but unfortunately our first hour teacher kind of did. I wasn't allowed to sit by Emma anymore, which sucked, but I got to sit next to my boys, and then the girls sat next to each other. Yes, Rebecca transferred schools after becoming part of our little group and even she says she's a lot happier here.
"So what's the deal between you and Em?" Luke asked.
"I don't know. I'm pretty sure she likes me as more than a friend, but neither of us are making a move."
"Maybe it's one of those relationships where you both just know, ya know?" Michael said.
"I doubt it. I know Emma and I can only imagine how much she's thought about us. She's probably even made a pro and con list about us dating."
Luke thought about it, then nodded. "Yeah. That sounds like something she'd do."
I smirked and looked over at the girls. All four were laughing, and judging by the fact that Emma was laughing the hardest, it was probably something Sam said or did. "What should I do?"
"I don't know man. Maybe you should just give her a couple more days and see what happens. And if nothing happens, then you should make a move," Calum offered.
"Yeah. I think that's a good idea," Michael said.
Luke nodded, and so did I. "Okay," I said. "That's what I'll do."
~~~~~~~~~~
The four of us walked out into the lobby of the management building and looked at the four girls. Emma was biting her nails, and as soon as she heard our feet against the tile, turned to look at me.
"Well?" she asked.
The other three girls turned to look at us: all of them looking like nervous wrecks.
I took a deep breath. "You're in," I said.
"We're..." Em started.
"Are you serious?" Sam asked, looking at Michael. He nodded.
"Oh my god?" Jen screamed.
Emma ran over to me and jumped, almost knocking me to the ground in the process, but I did catch her in time. Her ankles locked around my hips and I held her close to me.
"Please don't be joking," she mumbled against my neck.
"I'm not. You're in, babe."
She pulled back a little and then pressed her lips against mine. It was... Surprising, definitely, but after the initial shock I accepted it. And honestly, it was exactly like I would have imagined it. It just felt right, and like we were meant to be together. I didn't care that were basically making out in front of six other people, one of them being her brother, I just cared that I was with her, and that this was actually happening. When she finally pulled away and realized what had just happened, she quickly let go of me.
"I'm so sorry," she said.
"Don't be."
"But, I just.."
"I like you Emma, a lot."
"I like you too, Ash."
"Really?"
Her blush intensified. "Yeah. A lot."
I smiled and took her hand.
"So... Are we dating now?"
"Call me crazy, but I already thought we were."
"Ashton," she laughed
"Yeah. Even while you were dating Alex, you just didn't know it," I smirked.
She laughed again and went to hug me, but I gave her one last kiss before I enveloped her in a hug.
"It's about damn time," Calum laughed.
Everyone laughed and nodded. I'm sure Emma was blushing like mad.
"Shut up," she groaned.
"Well, how about we celebrate by going to get ice cream and then going back to our house?" Luke offered.
"That sounds perfect," Rebecca agreed.
Everyone else agreed too, and we filed out in our couples and headed to our cars. I could just tell that this was going to be another great night.
