No matter how long you're gone, I'm always gonna want you back

Tony Stark had only known her one day. Literally less than 20 hours and yet he cared for her as if she were part of his team. Perhaps it was because he felt sorry for her - illegal human experimentation and everything.
But watching her die had hurt him. To watch his protege Peter Parker cradle her as her eyes closed had shattered his heart. It only became worse as he too died and faded into nothingness.
He vowed to himself he would bring back both of the teenagers he had come to care for deeply. So he brought back the lifeless body of Alice Steel, travelled through space for weeks while clinging onto the hope that the other members of his team hadn't faded into dust just as Peter had.
The billionaire worked tirelessly with the remainder of his team for weeks, going through literal time and space until they brought back everyone who had suffered at the hands of Thanos.
The work of the Avengers paid off as families were reunited and were able to go on with life as it was before. Among these were the Parkers. Peter and May settled back into their lives contently; him still going on patrol as Queens' favourite hero Spider-Man. His life was practically the same.
Except he couldn't stop thinking about the friend he had made and lost on the same day. With the help of HYDRA's files, he devoted any free time he had to helping his mentor in bringing back the hero that they had lost. He joined his mentor in promising to restore the life and soul that was Alice Steel. He wasn't sure what help he could offer but he damn well wasn't going to give up until his word had been fulfilled.
Peters aunt May tried her best to keep up with the emotional demands that came with it. Due to his enhanced abilities, Peter's emotions skyrocketed every time a trial was unsuccessful. He felt the failure weigh down his chest and build to the point where he couldn't breathe without having some form of a breakdown. May comforted him the best she could, offering advice she knew would never fully measure up to his intense emotions.
He wouldn't give up, though. Despite the pain he felt as he worked on this project, Peter knew if he were to ever get back the friend he'd lost, he'd have to stand by Tony's side and be there.
The work went on for three years, they both began to lose any hope they had left.
So when Alice awoke with a gasp and wide eyes, she was alone.

I feel like I need a new line to put here - new story and everything. Check back next time, maybe I'll have a new one.
So here's the first part of Breathing - a small insight to the past three years. It'll start having an actual plot soon I promise., just stick with me here.
I've decided that the title of each chapter will be named after a song I feel matches the theme or emotions felt in that part.
Lots of love! Xx
(Should I choose a new sign off as well? Ah who knows)
